I love my G18C, it always works, it's decently accurate and quiet. If you have a hard on for blowback, you won't like it, but if you just need a reliable sidearm, go for it.

GBB just seem more fun to shoot....as a novelty at least, if not for the satisfaction of seeing it work kinda like a real gun...

A gbb is the funnest gun to shoot in airsoft. If you haven't ever shot one, I suggest you do that before deciding between gbb or aep. I can't describe the feeling in words.

That being said, an aep is more effective in a game. It shoots a little slower, but the accuracy is consistent with the best gbb's.
And the TM g18c has a 100rd mag.

For some people, blowback makes the game fun. For some, shooting other people makes it fun. It depends on what type you are.

I've personally handled the following guns:
kjw m9
tm hi-capa
ksc g18
tm g18c

i own the hi-capa.

Can't knock that comment!!

For me shooting other people makes it fun. Blowback does nothing for me.

Maintanence isn't hard. Lube-up your slide rails, slick your magwell, and 2 drops (silicone oil) down your valve opening... Not hard. Takes less than 5 mins.

In comparison to an AEP though, it's even easier. And plus, it works no matter what the weather conditions are like. I have many GBBs and they are mostly used for plinking and coolness factor. The AEP, I never had to worry about on my first game out and still got me 4 kills.

True. The point of having a sidearm isn't to be cool, but to keep you alive (or in the game in this case). Thing is, if something DOES go wrong, a GBB is easier to fix.

I'm pretty sure replacing a recoil spring is easier than replacing a gear

Sorry KOS, the GBB loses in all aspects except for the cool, blowback effect. I have owned 3 GBBs (KJ, TM and KWC) and was dissapointed with all of them in terms of maintenance (TM was minimal but still more than any AEG). From what my friends tell me, their AEP works awesome and knowing TM AEGs, would expect it to last a lot longer than any GBB

AEP is a gun for the field. GBBs are for chairsofters

Dont forget if you drop it in the sand all you have to do is spend 1-2 hours cleaning every piece bit by bit. Also, sometimes expensive, hard to find pieces break/fall off but you can always get replacements, its not a big deal

If you're concern about that might I suggest you buy KSC glock 17, in my experience for GBB combat pistol it would be Glock series hands down. Reasons because cheaper upgrade parts, lot of replacement parts and best of all is the mags, no leaks what so ever. If you want harder kick then TM Glock 17 is also optional.

I have handled and upgraded KSC Mk.23, USP compact and USP Full-size, and when I did purchase a KSC Glock 17, I was surprise about the total cost wasn't high and still perform excellent compare to Hk line ups.

Ouch, isn't that a bit harsh? Did a GBB user run over your puppy when you were little or something?

Okay, given your pistol isn't attached to a lanyard, and is improperly secured in the holster.. Otherwise, why would your pistol be in the sand? And even if it did fall, the chances of getting sand in your blow-back chamber are pretty slim (given you have a loaded pistol)...

I don't know much about AEPs, but I don't think they're much (if at all) better than GBBs.

And GBBs aren't for Chairsofters, they're for Mil-sim...ers(?) who don't believe in using 100round pistols, with wussy blowback

Have you seen the way my team plays. We get in the dirt, crawl around prone doing rolls or whatevers needed to take a guy out and stay in the game. You would notice not a single person on my teams wears a drop leg holster for this reason. I have my pistol zipped up in my chest pocket and at Wasaga it still manages to get full of sand.

Ive also owned about 4 or 5 GBBs now and all have had problems. Some major and some just had mag leeks, so Id think that a AEP would be more reliable.

Also most parts for most GBBs are extremely hard to find.
