Is 150 CAD a good price for an AEG for a new person to airsoft?
Is $150 CAD a good price for an AEG? Its a boys version of a M4A1 made by tokyo marui. It's going to be my first gun and I dont have alot of money to spend on it, i have around 150 so much more expensive is too much.Whats your opinion? Is it a good gun for my first one?

STAY AWAY FROM BOYS GUNS! They have the nasty tendency of critical failure after a relativly short period of use, and their performance is terrible when compared to most any other AEG. It is not worth it.

What do you suggest as a compromise instead of a boys gun for under 160 dollars?

There really isn't. You won't find a decent fully functional AEG in Canada under $250 generally speaking, though you might find a GBB or AEP at that price.

I dont want to buy a clear gun and most good priced AEG's which arent boys come from the U.S.A. Because they are from the U.S im afraid that the gun might get confiscated at the border. Now I think im gonna have to get some more money and find a decent Gun that wont break.

You CANNOT import AEGs on your own from the states. The Border will seize them and you'll be out your money. Your best bet is to save up, and purchase from a Canadian retailer.

Get age verified, and you'll be able to check the 'for sale' area where you'll be able to find reasonably priced used AEGs that will be much better quality than anything you can buy brand new for $200 or however much you spend.
Airsoft is expensive to get into, but it makes up for it with relatively low upkeep and cheap consumables (aka bbs are cheap as hell compared to paintballs).

Everyone here on ASC will probably tell you, save your money and buy a decent AEG. Like the old saying..."You get what you pay for". BOYS airsoft is good for plinking around the backyard and shooting the neighbours cat. After saving up and buying a good quality AEG, you'll thank yourself.

then buying a gun is not an option.
You can attend games with a parent if your 16 at some fields. We also do not support parents buying for minors. depending on how young you are, you'd prolly feel out of place with us old farts anyways. Save so when your 18, you can buy a bitching BB machine. |
