MC51 Modification

I'm looking at the Tokyo Marui MC51 and let's face it, it is damned ugly. I was wondering if there is/ if it is possible to convert the barrell and foregrip to a SD model (like the one used in the mp5SD line). Thanks

Sincerely: Ryan

I recall my first year playing with Exo (formerly of Wolfpack Ottawa) and he had his TM G3 modified with an MP5SD front end on it. How he did it, I have no idea, but it looks like it IS possible, just a matter of making it work.

Sweet

It's awesome that it is possible since the receiver of the gun is so large and well.. chunky, a equally chunky foregrip would suit to match fairly well. Do you have any ideas as to if a kit is out there? Or perhaps an tutorial (like ones on unconventionalairsoft.com) to make it work.

Thanks: Ryan

If this will be your first gun, you may want to pick something simpler to start off with instead of already trying to customize...

I tend to live by the creedo "if your going to do it, go all out and do it properly." As far as learning about the internals and the like, I am learning the same way I learned to tool on my car; internet tutorials, friends, diagrams, and some background knowledge. I am not trying to sound clueless or what some may consider a dousche bag. As long as I take my time and don't open anything up that I don't know how to put back together I'll be fine.

Does anyone have any leads as to where/ to whom I may inquire about having this custom smithed for me?

SO TRUE! I have an MC51, I love it (only because I modded it)! The second week I owned it I decided it was really awkward -- longer than an MP5 and just strange to hold... I found a foregrip that came with RIS and allowed use of a 9.6v battery pack.

JUST MC51/MP5 Foregrip

I found an article that described this foregrip at: Airsoftretreat, and realized that this was the grip I wanted. The PAIN is that you have two grub screws, one standard-screwdriver nut, and one phillips-head screw to undo whenever you want to change the battery (and the grip itself can be finiky when installing).

I have added a grip and a laser to it; well worth the price.

Good Luck!

I'm not sure if he's still around, but I do remember a while back that Malinak had a G3SBS which he converted himself.

Or go this route: Move the wires to the back(get a tech)Mauri G3 fullstock, and a G&P or G&G MC 51 RAS and it will look as tight as this:

OK, that is pretty sexy. It looks like a HK 51/53 (Not entirely sure about the numbers) I was looking for the fatty barrel signiture though. Never the less, a very nice conversion.

Twist a supressor on it. A little long but you couls even put a longer inner barrel in, and have a wicked accurate outdoor gun.

LoL, I like the creative suggestion. However, I'm looking for something that will be useful indoors or at medium range rather than the long outdoor (reach out and smack someone) target shoot. I have played paintball a few years and have decided that my favourite style is to close the gap between myself and the enemy, then pelt the hell out of their position. That seems to be, for me anyway, where those high ROF, medium range guns really shine.
