C-7 Fans... Help, Ambi Catch? Cocking handle?

:salute: Does anyone out there know where one could find a replica ambidexterous magazine release and ambi cocking handle? I found some real steel parts but If I can find someone who makes a cheaper *knock off* that'd be great. Thanks lads. :salute:

madbull makes two of the ambi latches:

A quick search on redwolf turned up four or five of the ambi mag catches. UNC, redwold and WGC should be able to help you out with getting them..

by a safety you mean selector switch? Im sure you could add a non functional one on fairly easily, but a functional one would require alot of mods i would imagine.

Let us know how you make out, I've been collecting bits for a C7A2 project as well.

Everything you ever wanted to know about the C7A2 and some of the changes proposed: http://nic.wolfeden.ca/c7a2rifle.pdf

Now onto the list of items...

Easy items:

- OD Buttstock. G&P makes a perfect one. Yes you can paint a TM one but the paint will wear off VERY easily and then it looks like crap.

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=17698
Product Code GP139O
Price (USD) $49.50

- OD Handguards. G&P makes a perfect front end set with OD handguards.

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=17912
Product Code GP357
Price (USD) $112.00

- OD Pistol Grip. G&P makes a perfect one.

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=21415
Product Code GP190
Price (USD) $24.50

- Black Rubber Butt Pad. Guarder makes a perfect one.

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...il?prodID=8642
Product Code G-STOCK-01
Price (USD) $19.80

- Ambi-Catch Mag Release. G&P makes a perfect one, I have it, works great.

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=20388
Product Code GP535
Price (USD) $10.50

I also see that King Arms now has one:

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=21808
Product Code KA-M4-09-B
Price (USD) $5.00

------

Hard to find items so far are:

- C7A2 Body. Nothing available yet here but you can purchase a no-trade body and get it engraved. Everyone "talks" about it but I've never seen one made yet.

- Ambi Selector (Obviously because the mechbox is in the way), however, you could put a fake one on the other side. May not be an issue, I've seen a few pics from combat camera of A2's without ambi selectors.

- Triad. Colt Canada is almost selling to the public, so this might just be a matter of time. However if you have access to a machine shop, there is a good line drawing with dimensions here http://nic.wolfeden.ca/c7a2rifle.pdf. Guarder makes a basic 3 rail front mount but it's not the same as the triad

- Ambi Charging Handle - That Mad Bull one (B Model) looks like it might be close enough. Not perfect, but damn close. Again, once Colt Canada is selling to the public, could buy theirs and take it apart to get the part you need. I'll order one of these Mad Bull units in the meantime.

- OD Elcan C79 - Lots of Elcan clones out there but none yet with an Olive Drab cover. Rubber is a pain in the ass to paint (it WILL flake) but you might be able to dye it.

- Cadpat Sling - Forget it, looks like it was a non-starter or is still "under development".

------

For batteries, simply remove all the head shields from the inside of the G&P handguards and install a "nunchuk" 9.6v 1700mah in the front. They use Sanyo KR-1700AU mah batteries. It "just" fits. Sample from Redwolf is here:

Product Brand 9.6 V Batteries
Product Code A-BATT010
Weight 500 g
Price (USD) $41.00

Make sure you setup your V2 Mechbox for front wiring!

Cheers

I can verify that the Ambi selector switch is not on Every C7A2, Including mine.. I hated that thing, so I had our techs switch it back. The only thing I'm looking for now is a C7/C8 body. Got the rest (except Elcan, cuz elcan sucks)

My plan for the C7 body was a newer Guarder blank (no trades) body, then take to a laser engraver to get the trades added. Have the body now, just need time to take it over to one and get it completed.

Still trying to find a green elcan cover (or some way to dye that rubber) as well we still have no solution yet for the Triad.

Yes. Have you read the importation FAQ, perchance?

I do have the Real Steal "RS" Colt CAR Aluminum Buttstock along with a Buttstock pad if you want to include it, I could also include a RS buffer tube (same as my XM-177E2 and the SIR)..... RS Colt A2 rifle Handguard with the heatshield.... RS Colt front sight with swilve...RS rifle or carbine lenght gas tube.... RS triangle or round handguard cap...RS A2 birdcage (half or full, have both versions) retreaded to 14mm CW flash hinder...........That I could part from...Everyhing is brand new....

"edited"... Almost forgot, I have a few RS Canadian Thermold Mag outer casings (examples could be seen from my photo gallery with the PTW SIR), one is modified already for TM inner casing, you just need to place it in, and 2 that are unmodified, but that could be arranged for TM or PTW, also I have 2 or 3 already modified for PTW's with the PTW's inner casing already installed, if you want TM inner casing installed we could discuss it.... RS Iron Back up sights a few brands and one is from a Colt upper that was chopped and customed made....A2 grip unknown brand, well I will have to check it out... G&P M16 grip....RS Colt CAR lenght hanguard with heat shield (the same as my XM-177E2 photo)

I know that I have a few other things laying around, just need to come up with an inventory list...
