Sniper sidearm of choice
Hi everybody!
Recently I bought a TM VSR-10 and sold my loved M16, so now I am wondering what to buy as a sidearm (my VSR-10 shoots 410 fps so I don't want to engage at close range, and it is bolt action so it's not quite the best in CQB). I've done my research, handled several guns but I have yet to make a choice, so if you guys and gals could give me a heads up on some pros and cons I could have forgot to consider, I'd be very thankful! Also, comments from experienced snipers and airsofters in general are welcome! Gas blowback Pros: -Blowback -Small size -Comes in full auto (G18) -Good power when run on propane Cons: -gas is more trouble than electric -Inaccurate (at least the ones I tried) -some parts prone to breaking Spring shotgun Pros: -3 BBs/shot -No battery or gas to care about -not too costly (no battery, charger, propane adaptor to buy) Cons: -not upgradable -not full auto Small AEG (mp5k) Pros: -Full auto goodness -Electric Cons: -quite expensive Thanks a lot for your time! (Sorry if there are any english mistakes, I'm not a native english speaker) |

I would recommend the AEG because the battery will work better in the cold then the gas will. If you want to use a pistol though, consider the new AEP's (G18C and M93R). The other small AEG options are MP7 and the upcoming VZ## (I forget what it is). I personally would go with the AEP.

WA Wilson combat CQB, or if you cant afford that/dont like it, get a Tokyo Marui Hi-capa 4.3.
Personally though, I'd go with the WA cqb |

the TM Hicapa guns, aswell as the TM sig are excellent guns. Extremely high quality. Performance wise, they cant be beat. Lots of power, large mags, excellent range and accuracy.

MP5A5 and a drop leg mag holder. Compact, lets you meet the enemy on equal terms.

Wow 5 replies in 45 minutes, now that's impressive!
I must admit I'm quite intrigued by the proposition to lug around a mp5a5 in addition to my VSR-10, as I have yet to see a sling that would allow me to do that unemcumbered (sp?), but it would sure as hell allow me to meet the enemy on their terms, plus I would have an AEG for when I feel like charging in... |

i dont need a side arm, me and a dubby always role together. I snipe he watches my back, hell some times theres 3 of us so when they start getting closer they just unload with aegs and i'll sneek away or try and divert as many shots as i can.

Both !
Depending on the game, I carry a p90 (365 FPs) and Glock26A (Tm). I have a quick release system for my VSR, So I carry the P90 to my spot then switch. But I never go to close quarters with the VSR, long range recce and if I can get get a shot I shoot, otherwise I come with in with a full mag.
But if you are really sniping, it does not matter if they get close enough to figure out where you are hidden you are done anyway. |

P90s are sweet as side arms, despite the look they have a decently long barrel in them and with an ordinary silencer you can hide an M4 inner barrel in her. Way better than a MP5K.
My buddy usses a AK Spetz with no stock, its got great range and in invincable gear box.

I have an MP7A1, and I love the little thing.. you can use it as a pistol or as a small SMG. It actually shoots very nicely, and you can get a really good leg holster. its both Semi, and full auto and has 50rd, 100rd, or 190rd mags. As a sidearm thats not to bad to have, and yes.. I have gotten kills with it.

KSC MK23 SOCOM, HW hardkick model, its powerfull, very accurate, has good range, looks very badass and so far unlike other people i have had no problems with it (knock on wood) and yes i run it on propane all the time.
the only slight drawbacks i can think is that its a fairly large handgun, and if you want one and a good holster like my safariland, you will be paying around $550+, buts its all worth it i snipe with my m700 AICS and its a great backup to use alongside sniping, mind you ive never really had to use it while sniping, but still. its my only handgun right now and the only handgun i will ever need.

An MP5 A5 or MPK with the right sling rig or holster and you wont even notice it. Its what I would use if I ever turn to sniping.

I use a KJW Glock 23, It's a nice little pistol. I like the adjustable hopup.
