Problem with TM AK Hop Up

Hey guys!

I´ve got a problem with my TM AK 47. It´s pretty new, I maybe shot 2 or 3k bbs with it, but now there´s a problem. When I shoot full auto, the Hop Up changes it´s position. I have positioned it between the U and the P on the small scale. But after having shot a lowcap in full auto mode, it´s near to the front end of the scale.

I disassembled the gun maybe two or three times, so maybe i screwed up one of the srews at the Hop Up Unit, which is made out of plastic.

Does anybody know this problem and a solution for it? Or do I need to get a new HU Unit?

Greets Fedayin

PS: Sorry for my english, I know it´s not the best.

I´d thought about lube, too, but I want to change some internals later this year. But when I use lube on the Hop Up, I won´t be able to disassemble my AK any more.

I´d thought that I should probably take a small piece of plastic and try to lube it on the scale in front of the small lever so it won´t move any further.

Any other ideas?

Try tightening the small screws that hold the Hop up lever in place.

What does having a bit of lube in the hopup have to do with taking the gun apart???

true

just spray some lube down the barrel, on the hopup from where the mags feed the BBs in, and from the door that you adjust the hopup.

Sorry, my fault, I ´ve mixed up glue and lube ...:banghead:

I meant to use glue to fix the little Hop Up lever. But that would make it impossible to take the gun apart because I need to unscrew that part of the Hop Up.

But I can´t see what lube would help me to fix my problem.

@Gish: That´s part of the problem. They are overscrewed, when I want to screw them in, I may screw and screw and screw ..... Cause of the Hop Up Unit beeing out of plastic. And me beeing to hard to plastic....

It´s no problem to screw them out and in, but they are not tight enough to fix the small Hop Up lever.

If you broke the thread on the plastic parts, there is no solution to your problem; you need to buy a new hopup unit and treat it with more care.

I´m afraid your right....

But the thread is not really broken, there are no visible damages.... It´s just the endless screwing. Well, I´ll see if I may fix it on my own, if not, I´ll buy a G&G Metal Unit.

Thanks for your help

If the threading is stripped so badly it un-adjusts itself, that is something I consider broken.

Well, no screw is really lose or wobbles, they fit in pretty tight.

Anyway, I´ll try to fix it, and if that won´t work, I´ll get a new HU Unit.

Thanks for all the help suggestions.

Maybe it is the language barrier, but you are contradicting yourself.

If the threading where your screws go is stripped, then your hopup will never stay adjusted properly. If your screws dont move, then you have another problem entirely.

I unfortunately dont know german, but I bet some folks here do. You can ask in french if that would help you?

Oh, I guess it is the language barrier.

Well, they move, I may screw them in and out, and they don´t wobble, as least they didn´t when I tried. Still, the HU lever changes it´s position...

I guess it won´t. My french is even worse than my english.
By the way, I´m think I found a possible solution. I´ll try, and if it works, i´ll post it here. If not, I´ll need to buy a new unit.

Thanks for all the help.

If the Lever does not stay in one position, check if the guide rail is in good condition or the rest of the assembly is not loose. I wish I could see it in person, I would probably have fixed it for you in a few minutes.

It really should not move at all by itself.

What I have done in the past when I first started fixing airsoft guns. When I stripped a thread i would pack it with JB weld and once it dries drill a hole and re-thread the unit. Make sure to drill a hole just slightly smaller the the OD of the bolts thread.

Hope this helps!

Later Folks.
