Make your own tracer unit magazine

Haven't tried any mags other than the M16 mag. You're on your own for other mag types, but it's probably do-able for almost anything.

Check it out

Nice work Don!

I'm not sure if you get enough "dwell" when firing full auto, but the semi auto condition looks good.

Have you considered modifying a hop up body so you wouldn't have to mod every mag?

I was trying this exact same thing but then realized I wanted a tracer unit that I could use on every gun, me not being an arlamlite fan have a P90, Sig552 and a G36 so there was no way I was modifying mags for all my guns. I'm now making a tracer silencer with a pressure switch out of, of all things, a laxative bottle. Also I wanted to avoid anything but normal store bought batteries (AA, AAA, 9V, etc.)

Though this is still really neat that you pulled it off, great for any armalite fanboy out there (in other words, almost all airsoft players.)

Thats actually what I'm working on right now for my G36. Except I was thinking of putting the LED in the chamber, right were the bb's leave the mag. Then I could have it wired right into the trigger assembly, so that it runs off the main battery and only turns on when you press the trigger. I'll go to The Source today and see if I can find an adequate LED.

The LED's that the Source sells are basic ones, no where near bright enough to activate the tracer BB's at all and are also incredibly expensive. I got 100 UV super bright LED's from led shoppe for something like $11 with free shipping, I just flash the tracer BB's with em for an instant and their activated.

It's not THAT brilliant. He probably just stole the idea from G&P ;-)

And thanks LUTNIT, I'll check that out. I was kind of skeptical that the source would have anything good.

Actually I had it tried out last weekend at a night game. I was wondering about the performance in fullauto as well, but it worked just fine!

Tried to take a video but my crappy camera couldn't see jack.

Nope - not yet anyway.

Putting it into the hop-up unit somehow would probably work fine as long as you can find the room for it (which isn't much).

I knew there was one out there with the same concept - I didn't know it was G&P though; I've updated the page with that, thanks.

I know you put a smiley around that but for the record I did mention the G&P one it in my writeup as "prior art" (though I didn't know it was G&P at the time, but I knew there was a "tracer magazine" somewhere out there).
