Upgrading the ICS AK74m
Hey, whats up?
I need some help from all the airsoftaholics on this site if possible... I am looking to upgrade my AK74m mainly for better accuracy in the bush. 1-How does one find out what stuff goes with what gun? Is it word of mouth or are there specs somewhere on the net? 2-How does one determine what upgrades are needed for a rifle/gun? How does one know if when upgrading a spring, do you need new gears? 3-How does one determinewhat parts to upgrade for a desired outcome? So many questions now that I have an AEG! Thanks for taking the time!

Check the FAQ. There is everthing you could ever ask about this in there.
Really helpful, I believe all the stuff you mentioned is covered. |

Kid - Myrrlyn has read the FAQ's, he knows he needs to do the spring, bearings, piston etc.
What he's asking is what do people recommend to use in the ICS AK74m which is a pretty new model on the market. And he's not actually looking for increased FPS (although he wont mind it), he's looking for increased accuracy mostly. And is looking for recommendations not on spring % but brands. Ie - Promethius vs Systema inner barrels - has anyone actually tried them in the ICS Ak74m yet and what type of results did they get. The FAQ's have already told him what he should upgrade, but the ICS AK74m is a pretty decent gun out of the box. |

The Problem with the FAQ section is it never knows the answers before someone asks them. Maybe HonestJohn can fix that glitch but, he done a lot this year already (all sorts of numbers and flashy things).

I put a prometheus MS120sp in my ICS AK74m
then just add an AK length systema BS 6.04mm tightbore. i also recommend a new piston head, the one that comes with it is crappy. |

nothing to do with accuracy here, although I agree with Droc. + use higher quality BBs. Different brands work better with different guns sometimes.
Locktite the motor adjustment screw. It seems to be a common problem for the ICS AKm. It comes loose and drops the motor out of position right out of the box.
