G&G GR16A2 Carbine 2005 Ver.

I've been thinking of buying this AEG from wgcshop and i was wondering if theres anything else should i buy in terms of reliability.

I searched this forum & i only found one problem that the Tappet Plate will break after 2000 rounds...

Are there anything else?

the tappet plate is a fluke. not every G&G will do that. its a fine gun, but check arnies for laws in the Uk for importing guns from wgc so it doesnt get seized.

The AEG fps is beyond the limits in the uk:sad:.

Does anyone know what parts decrease the fps other than the spring without sacrificing accuracy?

accuracy will remain the same as it is not dependent on fps. So long as you do not change the barrel, your accuracy will remain the same.


A velocity reducer is a temp solution, but I hear it can change accuracy(BBs pushing through a rubber wall after the inner barrel).

the safest and easiest way to decrease the FPS is changing the spring. Very easy to do.

hmm, i've searching on the net for review for this AEG & i could only find the G&G GR16 carbine 2005 ver. which is almost similar to the AEG am going to buy.

Anyone know what type of mini battery the GR16A2 Carbine takes? Is it 8.4v or 9.6v + is it a odd double or stick type?

the guns are basically the same so the review works for both
someone else may know more about the battery situation

Looking at the G&G GR16 carbine 2005 ver. review it looks like it is a 9.6v Nun-Chuck battery. The thing is that i can't figure out if its a small plug or large plug because i will be custom making it.

Take a look here - i think its a small plug, what do you think?

could just spend a few extra cents and get both...you'll use the otherone eventually

It's an M4, it says mini battery. Nunchucks normally have the mini as well.

Assume it's the mini. But really, get a few of each, you will use them, as Droc pointed out.

I've never had a gun with a battery in the foresection with a large connector.

it might be in your best intrest to build it when you get the gun so you can fit it as you go...rather then doing it now and it not fitting.

IMHO, large battery is the only way to go....but thats just me

Some of the G&G guns have bad internals from what I hear. Might want to look into that.

G&G guns (from what ive seen and heard)- preform fine. They are very loud guns.

I am going end up buy upgraded gears like this or something similar.

While i was searching for a m90 spring in wgcshop i came upon a spring (here) that can do 630fps! I wonder how long many bb the aeg can shot before it turns into a paperweight. lol

do 630 fps, and it will be instantly be a paperweight.. i dont think theres any fields that allow speeds that high..

Not the newer versions. Never heard anyone complained about issues after G&G corrected their mistakes. Yes the older version is a pain in A$$. I have the older version but after thousands of hours fixing the problematic parts it performs great.
