URGENT- POTENTIAL SCAMMER - Any info for USER - Dongtheimpailer

Hi,

I recently contacted ASC user ' dongtheimpaler ' in regards to a MP7 that he had posted for sale in the forums. I made him a deal and I obtained his phone number as a contact information and sent him EMT thereafter.

However, I allowed him 2-3 days since it was the weekend when he suddenly stopped replying to my messages for follow up information regards to tracking number/etc. I looked around and it appears that another ASC user also is in this same situation. I sent text messages/called the number but the phone is off and it goes straight into voicemail. I can see his activity going onto ASC and at times he is logged in 'viewing private messages' and does not respond

Specifically this post was the sale thread. I paid to purchase both of the MP7 and I contacted another user who also claimed that they had paid for one of the MP7. Since he posted that there only were 2, It appears to me that something must be wrong.

I was foolish for only taking down his phone and email thinking that is sufficient contact information. I should have asked for ID/address, however, for many normal ASC transactions I have felt that was excessive, but now I see the rationale behind it. I foolishly believed that his trade rating provided a safe trade so I trusted it and sent the EMT.

I am in the same boat as I had attempted to purchase one of his TM MP7, another member known to me seems to be having the same issue with an attempted purchase of a TM G18C.

Any leads from anyone who has met him in real life or who age verified him would be greatly appreciated.

I met him a few years back when he spent some time in Montreal. He was a nice guy and we had a lot of fun with him at our target shooting nights. I'll try to get in touch with other local players that seemed to know him well.

YIKES. Don't let this bad apple ruin your hobby!

I agree that local deals are the easiest. You can see it, handle it and inspect it before buying. When doing deals abroad, if I see even one negative rating I would steer clear.

Thank you for the warning. I too was about to purchase his TM MP7 thankfully the deal did not happen. I hope this gets resolved!
