M16A2 RIS Hybrid

After changing my internals to:
SystemA Super Torque-up motor
G&G Piston
Systema Spur Gear Set Super Torque Up Ratio
Systema New Bore Up Cylinder Set for M16A2
G&P 6mm reinforced Gear Box
Prometheus MS135 Spring
Systema Spring Guide with Bearing VER II
Systema Bearing middle gear
Systema Steel bushings
High Flow nozzle
Low resistance wiring
SystemA Full metal one piece hopup
SystemA 6.04 mm tight bore barrel

I decided that my gun was no longer appropriate for a SAW position. I then set out to develop a stable sniper platform. Unfortunately barrel wobble, a plastic body, and unstable scope made the change difficult. This mod greatly stabilizes my barrel, provides a VERY solid scope mount, and has additional rails for extra gear.

If people are interested, I can post the designs. This mod also has room for an additional battery inside it, good for M4 players...

Looks like alot of thought and effort went into it! I dont really think its suits the gun though. Looks a bit out of place.

I agree, when I get my one piece barrel in, I am going to drop the plastic furniture and make it full way down...

Alternatively, when you start slapping on extra accessories it really fleshes it out, A large scope on the side looks great and functions well.

Just a note, it looks like there is no way to view the iron sights. Maybe removing the front sight would streamline the front to match the new look. Or, cutting a hole along the irons like a G36 handle to sight through it.

Abuse? You want abuse? Okay, here it is in a poorly taken cluttered picture, with a 4000 rnd box mag and a $10 crappytire scope! Now that is abuse! I think I got some orange spray paint around here somewhere...

Onto a more serious note. I played a game today, man, this gun is rock solid now, no barrel wobble or flex at all. The unique look also comes across well and gets some "nice" spacegun/Starshiptrooper remarks :borg:

Once you get the monkeys, there is no going back. They have modded my gun, and as you can see, they clearly want it to remain that way.

Thanks, I tried hard. You seem to be a really beam of sunshine.

Fortunately, function over beauty is more important when you are using a weapon.

As you stated in the armalite test, you also find AK's ugly.

Chairsofting, on the other hand, yeah, you want your wall mount to look good.

I find that this mod is comfortable to hold and 1/8th the cost of the nearest RIS system for the M16.

Nice, gotta love the monkey loving G36. Checked out some of the overseas pricing on the optics bridge. Ouch, $100-150 US.

Still, very nice G36 with the monkey mod... How much more FPS do those bad boys add?

Why yes, I am a beam of sunshine. Straight from the sun. They don't get any brighter then me.

Form following function eh? What's the function in having a g36 handle on an armalite? There's much better ways to solve barrel wobble... and for a rail you could always buy the underforegrip rail from wgc for $20... And lets face it. We're playing airsoft. Our guns don't need to be as durable as real steel so form following function isn't really all that valid.

The thing that appeals to me about airsofting is that it looks good and authentic. If I didn't care about looks I'd be playing paintball with a neon gun and bright red gear. Or I'd be making butt ugly gun mods.

You have an address for the underforegrip rail from wgc for $20? How does it work? I am interested...

It bolts onto the bottom or top of your foregrip (whatever you want, or both if you buy two) using the holes already in your grip. I had one on my M4 for a while and it was sturdier then you think. Heck you could make one for cheaper if you found a section of rail...

That is simple... really simple, and I have lots of rails strapped all over that space gun mod... I was looking at that item on Redwolf but didn't understand what the purpose of them (Slightly slanted for m16 furniture). Only problem, M16A2 carrying handle doesn't let me strap across the top between body and furniture, M4's got me beat there. Mind you, I got an SR16 body in the mail.... problem solved... hopefully can rig together a continious rail from body to furniture. Solves my rail and barrel wobble problem...

On another note, I STILL like space guns, I have enough parts left over from modding my M16A2 that I can build another gun (Full internals and body, but no front end). Myaa ha ha ha, another poor armalite shall die gruesomely... and be resurrected into a horrible frankensoft bullpup... All in the spirit of having to type horrible uni papers on Halloween night...
