WE G39 DMR/Sniper build; looking for the perfect barrel.
Hey all, I've got a little project in the works. I'm converting one of my WE G39C's into a long-range monster for the summer, and I'm looking for the PERFECT inner barrel for this build.
So far I've added a G39K conversion front-end to it, and I plan on filling one of my unused mock suppressors with foam rings to stabilize a long inner barrel. I'm looking for a length somewhere around the 500/510mm mark, and a width between 6.08 and 6.04mm (I want to keep a fairly good grouping at distance, since I can afford to lose a bit of FPS due to a few mods I've already done). Can any of you recommend something that might suit my needs without totally breaking the bank? I'd rather go with something tried, tested and true than a no-name company, if possible. Any and all discussion is welcome. Thanks for checking out the post, cheers. |

Hmm are you sure you want a barrel that long? All evidence I googled up suggests that for non ported cylinder shooting ~450 fps(or maybe 500, don't remember it anymore) 455mm is optimal, groupings getting worse for longer barrels. My guess is if you are shooting slower a shorter barrel would be more optimal.

You are looking at about 100$+ for what you want. Maybe look at an Orga barrel, they work great in PTW/GBB builds and are favored for polarstars.
If your mock silencer is already foam filled why not use it as an actual silencer? I can notice a huge different with my KC02 when it has the silencer and when it doesn't. PLUS buying a 510/500mm barrel and having it hidden by a mock suppressor is a huge PITA. Get a G39K length barrel and a silencer for the end of the rifle. Plus the Pit never really presented that many good long range shot opportunities. I tried a couple years ago with an M16A1 and the thing was way too long. |

Isn't the WE G39 a GBBR?

Yeah thundercactus will be here soon enough to mind fuck everybody with knowledge about the length of barrels and consistency of shot placement.
Yes it is. A notoriously hot GBB. |

My bad, for some reason I read AEG instead of WE.. Disregards my comment then, gbbr pressure profile is quite different so a longer barrel with lower average pressure might be better. There are too many factors though so its all guesswork until someone tests a specific configuration

Funny you should mention the KJW KC-02, I have a nicely tuned one that I use with a foam-filled! I just thought I could make use of a mock if I ended up using a longer barrel, but as dmitrill mentioned, sticking with 5cm less in length might be a better choice. Maybe I'll slap one of the foam-filled ones on afterwards. So a 455mm barrel with a wider bore sounds like it might be the best choice here. Wondering how wide of a bore I should go? Everything I've read about the Orga Magnus barrels said that 6.23's are best left to HPA setups that can output a little extra juice to compensate for the loss in velocity, but with a teflon-taped barrel and bucking and some shimmed magazine lips I might be able to make use of it. What do you think? |

Thanks, but not really looking for tightbores (Also, these seem to be for AEG!). Have a few already and I'm not really getting the performance I want out of them; am looking to get back closer to stock/wider bore levels. Appreciate the link, though! You can stick to your normal barrel length, you really don't need anything longer than like a 250mm barrel on a GBBR as it turns out lol
A longer barrel length is going to increase your muzzle energy and joule creep which is good if you're NOT currently hitting the fps mark you want. Wider bores are going to add resistance to fouling, but not increase accuracy. Downside with a GBBR is its also going to waste gas, so I'd recommend staying in the 6.03 to 6.08 range. All that REALLY matters is you get the highest quality barrel you can find, like PDI or laylax. |

Oh sorry, I had just assumed they were for GBB because they are labeled WE and I associate that with GBB, but you're right, it even says right there
