TM mk23 PDI 6.01 vs 6.05 accuracy?
Hi,
Has anyone done an accuracy comparison with the PDI 6.01 vs 6.05 inner barrels? 133mm specifically Else a comparison with first factory 6.03 and km head 6.04? Really bent between the two pdi barrels... Cheers |

The 6.05 will be very slightly more accurate, the 6.01 will increase power a bit. The first factory (Laylax/Prometheus) barrel will give you similar performance to the PDI, both brands make excellent barrels. The KM barrel is decent enough, but it is a brass barrel, so it is not as durable as the PDI and Laylax barrels. But then again, we are talking about a pistol here, so it is not going to see gazillions of rounds, so if the KM is significantly cheaper it might be a good deal.
Also, I usually recommend not to upgrade barrels on TM pistols as you get very little performance increase for the large amount of money you are spending, but the MK23 has a crappy aluminium barrel that is not very durable, so it is worth it. Note that the best performance upgrade for any pistol remains a good hop up rubber, and as such, if you upgrade only the barrel, you are not going to see a major improvement in accuracy or range, you really need a better hop up rubber too. The PDI W hops and the Firefly soft rubbers are great performers, although there are plenty of other great rubbers out there.

Laylax > PDI. I have a PDI 6.01 and a Laylax 6.03, the Laylax out shoots the PDI 6.01 every time.

Laylax has a deviation in the bore of 0.001mm, whereas PDI has a deviation of 0.002mm. These are from quantifiable measurements, not advertised tolerances. That pretty much sums it up right there.

Drakker, KM barrels are not brass...
They're steel with a titanium nitride coating (hence the "TN"), so probably has the best durability of any barrel. Last edited by Styrak; January 23rd, 2015 at 04:10.. |

Oh, thanks, I read they were brass on I don't remember which forum/store/review a long time ago... so they are like the Raven barrels from PDI, but with a titanium coating?

hmmm so seems laylax 6.03 is the answer?
It seems to be discontinued.... argh. I actually bought the wrong KM barrel as well... got one for KSC instead. seems like both laylax and KM are both discontinued... I guess I might have to get the PDI 6.05 then... |

The 6.00 is just as good, and probably even better if you want precise shooting!

Actually if you ignore the quality of the bore, wider bore barrels are more accurate than tight bore barrels. Also, watch out for the 6.00 power barrel as it might make your MK23 shoot over the 350 fps limit for CQB. With a PDI 6.01 mine already shoots around 340 fps with 0.20g BBs and over the limit with 0.28g+ BBs.
