Need help finding socom 1911 parts
Hey so I recently acquired a used Socom 1911 GBBP and it works fine for now, however I do plan on upgrading it a bit in the future however I can not seem to find anywhere to acquire parts both externally and internal. So was wondering if i could "pick" the collective masses brains to see if anyone knows where I can find parts or what other parts are compatible. Thanks

SOCOM 1911, is that the model or do you mean a SOCOM Gear 1911?
If not what brand 1911 is it?

Yeah it's basically WE. A lot of parts are compatible with TM, but not all. Note that the SOCOM Gear Les Baer 1911 is based more on TM/KJW than WE models.
The TM parts that do fit WE are mostly from Hi Capa 1911s. There's several threads on it (which date back quite a while, so you'll have to do some digging) but if memory serves slides were compatible, chambers/barrels are compatible, Recoil and hammer springs are compatible in theory but 2nd gen WE has a longer+stiffer hammer spring than even the upgrades, so it would be more of a downgrade, loading nozzle is compatible, inner barrel, some piston heads (the Element ones are slightly too big and end up causing friction), hopup, etc. On my WE 1911 MEU I was able to use a Guarder chamber and barrel for the TM MEU 45 (link ), the sizing of which is 1:1 to RS to I was able to use a RS bushing, too. The WE recoil spring cap isn't really compatible with anything.

The socom gear guns are rebranded we and kjw guns. You can narrow what brand you have by looking for a small circle just above the trigger guard on the left side of the gun bright under the hole for the slide lock. If there is a small circle its a we gun. If not. Its a kjw branded one.
Also by looking at the mags as well. If you cam see bbs on the side of the mag and its single stack. Its a we gun. If the bbs double stack a can be seen from the front its a kjw. |

Ya it's definitely a WE version, and thanks for the great information I was digging through tons of threads but I always question older posts cuz sometimes brands have changes in quality or availability. Only thing that I'm have problems with now is finding a retailer with a wide variety of parts I've checked out (what I think) is pretty much all Canadian web based retailers and they have some here and there but wondering if there's a retailer out there that has a wide variety of parts under same"roof" so to speak. For example to give a better idea of my situation, gun shoots fine nice kick and accuracy but slide is a little lose and ideally I primarily looking to customize the aesthetics of the gun with maybe some minor internals. It seems most retailers seem to carry a decent amount for internals but it's external upgrades I seem to be having troubles finding

I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong, but if you expand your searches to include We Tech compatible parts in general, I'm sure you'd find a lot of responses. Myself, I use eBay a lot, and the compensators, extended safeties and slide releases, grip safeties, mag wells, and mainspring housings are astounding. Some are from lesser-quality clones, while others are from reputable providers.
The CASV I got for my We Scar L is really great, and was only $50 after shipping. |
