P90 Systema FTK - Any other upgrades suggested?

Well, this is my first post but I have been a long time reader. I'd like to give a quick hello to CrazyChoda and Ranger (if he still is around) if they read this. Anyway, now to the point

When doing an upgrade with a systema p90 ftk ("m100 standard kit") and a PDI 150% spring instead of the included systema spring, is there any other parts that should be upgraded to provide a reliable gun. I'd be planning to use a 9.6v 1500mAh battery but I have got mixed reports that say a 8.4v 1200mAh battery would be sufficient. Does anyone have any advice on that?

Also, would any other upgrades be needed if I was to install a systema 6.04mm barrel?

I hope my first post is comprised of good questions

no! TERRIBLE QUESTIONS! FLAME FLAME...

as far as i know if you've upgraded to metal bushings then a 9.6v battery is ok, it'll just increase your rate of fire. as far as the mah's are concerned you want as much as you can (more mah = more shots before being drained)

aaaaand...you don't need anything else to get a tightbore.

I was pretty sure about that, but I just wanted to double check. I had heard something about cylinder compression capacity or something like that which confused me, but I figure since there's such a small difference in diameter between the stock and tightbore, there'd be no problem. I'm also pretty sure the stuff about the cylinder was when getting a longer barrel, not a tighter one, but I thought I'd post the question anyway. Thanks

Yes, if you have a very long barrel, and you go with a tight bore, you might nead a bore-up kit for your piston, but it's probably not going to be an issue with your P90, so I wouldn't sweat it too much. Also, if you're going with those kinds of upgrades, you might consider sticking with the 9.4V battery. It'll crank it easier, and you won't lose as much ROF as you would with an 8.4V.

why get the whole ftk? just put the 9.6v, bushings and an sp100 (pdi 150) and that's enough upgrade to get you through no problem.

after those basic upgrades you can build from there or wait for something to fail and replace it with something better.

That's what I did. I'm actually just waiting for gears right now to replace mine... TM's stock selector gear flipped me the bird and died.

Well, that would certainly be much cheaper. I didn't know you could do that but it sounds very appealing, especially to my wallet . I'll be going that way now.

Thanks to everyone for their helpful suggestions. This place is great.
