Help with BB weight selection

Been playing with 0.25g BBs since I bought my gun stock. After a bunch of upgrades, wonder if I should be thinking about going with a heavier weight.

Current Gun information is;
- 385-390 FPS
- 285mm Prometheus EG Barrel 6.03
- R-Hop
- M Nub
- lonex hop up chamber

Thinking of going with 0.30g BBs but before I order a pack just wondering on peoples opinions.

Thanks,

u should be able to hop .30's or heavier with yer rhop. Gotta test n see what works best in your setup, but i run nothing lighter than .30's in all my outdoor guns

.28's again comes down to your gun but also don't forget the mags if the mag springs can't feed propperty what the hop can lift doesn't matter.

Check your guns performance overall by testing different BB weights. Usually you'll pick the heaviest round your gun can effectively send down range, or one weight below that if they travel too slow, your choice. If you cannot send a 0.28g BB quickly and effectively down range, then your gun may need some work.

With the Rhop you should have no trouble lifting .30s out to max range, even down at 1j

.3s or higher if you are at 1.4 J Even without r-hop it's worth it to use heavy weights at this muzzle output.

It may seem like an added cost to get the ammo, but if your gun is tuned properly you'll need less of it to accomplish what you want to do.

I recommend .30's and .28's if money is an issue. I find there is a bigger jump in pricing between .30's and .28's.

Here's a good read for you:

In theory, flight time should be lower with a .30 at typical outdoor ranges.

In any case, I recommend that you prioritize quality over the available weight. For example, I would use .25 BB Bastards over .30 crap brand any day.

.25 was not heavy enough for me outdoors. VFC, G&P, & G&G guns stock shooting at around 400 fps. .28 weight was much better.

I now have the exact same setup as you on my VFC M4 (r-hop, m-nub, lonex hop chamber) and I just had spectacular results jumping from Elite force .28 bios to Elite Force Milsim Max .32 bios. Yes they are expensive, but I got more long range hits, and way more hits in general than I ever did with .28

I will try .30s next, but .32 worked amazing.

My personal favorites: .28 bastard or g&g bio bb. Very consistant exellent feeding exellent price.
If you dont use bio bb just go with .30

If you do use bio bb just go with Green Devil .30 - if you can find them now.
