KWC Luger P08 accuracy?

Hi all:

Really tempted to get the new KWC Luger as opposed to the WE version.
The only reason I am hesitant is the lack of an adjustable hop up in the KWC version.
Does anyone have any real world experience with this gun yet?
What is the accuracy and range like?
Likes? Dislikes?

Any feedback would great! !

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

Just got the pistol. Turns out these things use VSR style barrels and hopups! Though in the diagram i can't seem to see anything for adjusment, might need to shim to adjust the hop. Will be doing tests as soon as I get home from work.

So I was under the impression that it didn't have a hop up?

If it can be adjusted. .......

I may buy one....or 3

Also, I see you are an age verifier, Strelok.
We in the Okanagan are having a helluva time trying to get verified. There are a few of us.
Any chance you know what we can do about it?
Possibly one of us could become a verifier. (Ps I am 44 but don't tell anyone)

Kevin

Alright. I'm currently working on the review. But here is a quick summary for those that are interested in purchasing this pistol.

I can't confirm it until I can borrow my old WE back (Gave it to a friend to use as a display piece) but it seems that the gun is KWC's own design internally. I can see some similarities between the WE/Tanaka system and KWC but not a whole lot.

The gun NEEDS to be lubricated when unboxed. The gun comes with some oil on moving parts, but it isn't enough for the pistol to really shine in function. The review will have a picture guide on how and where to lubricate the pistol.

There is a screw that may need to be set with loctite on the back of the nozzle housing, it retains the spring that returns the loading nozzle in the firing process. Mine came loose through firing and I ended up slightly damaging the spring. I was able to recover the screw thankfully.

Accuracy is quite sufficient using .25's, but the hopup isn't strong enough to give any range. I will be looking into ways to shim the hopup to fix this issue and make this pistol a bit more effective than it already is. I plan on using .30's in this handgun at some point.

Firing the gun is really pleasant. Its loud, has a kick and cycles quite well when properly oiled. However, there is a significant FPS drop throughout firing a magazine. Around a 20 to 30 FPS drop throughout a 15 round magazine. You can fire around 45 rounds through a single fill, but performance will suffer. I will do a proper chrono test in the review.

The plastic feed lips on the magazine seem fragile to me, so it might be a good idea to baby the magazine when loading this gun. As far as I know, there are no replacement magazines for this gun, and I don't know if KWC provides replacement parts.

Will have more soon.

Thanks

(Edit: I can't verify you unfortunately, This has to be done in person, and I don't think I could make a trip to BC to verify you guys, haha.)

Strelok,

What do you think of the WE version?

I assume since it's on display that it's not that great?
WE does have some nice accessories like the snail drum though...

Loved my WE.
Couldn't get hopup to set right, but it was a decent little piece. Not too great of range (50-75 feet give or take) but it was fun.

Considering the KWC, will give it a few months and let the bugs flush out, if any.

How do you like the KWC so far? Range? Never mind, misunderstood, you're waiting like I am...

On .28 bb's, range is about 35 meters effective. First few shots on a new c02 cartridge will be dead on, but half way through the magazine shots will start to veer. Dunno why it does that.

Gonna buy a thing of .36's later and see how that goes. Also going to replace the inner barrel and hopup with an upgraded marui set.

Ok well that's not half bad, certainly better than my P99

Could you keep us updated with your mods?

I think I may just have to buy one after all.

Thanks

Kevin
