how to extend hop up feed tube (need help)-SOLVED
I'm trying to put a Lonex precision hop up in my ICS. The final hurdle is to make the very bottom part of the hop up unit a little longer (about a mm). Has anyone come up with a good way to do this?

Why are you replacing the hop-up unit in an ICS? It has the best hop-up you can find in an M4, and if you replace it, you have to mod your hop-up chamber and replace the nozzle at the same time...
You can't make the feed tube longer. You make the mags sit higher (I don't see why you need to do that unless your mag catch is really worn down or broken). |

I Don't think that much of the ics hop up. There is a piece , that has a pivot way out on the end -that breaks. in fact the complete hop up is made of cheap plastic from melted down drinking straws Has anyone found a tube of the correct diameter to drill out the original last bit of feed tube and replace it with?

well it was a bit of work, but i did it! Usin a cordless drill and a file- like a lathe i made a much longer "feed tube" cut the original off at the shoulder, drilled it in about 3/8 of an inch. Cemented in the new tube and cut it off at the desired length.
SO my ICS M16 has a metal hop up and works excellent. There was no modding of the gun -just the hop up unit |
