Upgrading gun for first time
Hey,
I've Always ran my rifles stock, but now I want a rifle that will out preform the rest. I have recently got a new Classic Army m15a4 and i am looking to upgrade the gun to be a outside only rifle. I want this rifle to be able to reach out and hit, if you know what i mean. I would like it to have a higher rate of fire, and the distance and accuracy of a sniper rifle. all while keeping it under 450 FPS. I will be running this with a 9.6 1600MaH battery and am not going LiPo. If you all could be so kind enough to give me some insite on what to add to my rifle and the exact parts I need, That will be very appreciated. Thank you in advance! Jordan |

PDI 6.05 or promtheus 6.03 barrel, 363-400mm is fine, anything longer is a waste
Rhop, firefly or PDI-W rubber whatever internals net you perfect compression. If you can find them, the ARS cylinder/piston head combo is really fantastic. You'll need to actually define "higher rate of fire" because having a 9.6v mini seriously limits your ability to run both high speed and high fps. It will also determine which gears we recommend. With a 7.4v LiPo you can run high speed high fps on a high speed or standard ratio gear set with a good motor, but not with a 9.6 mini. NiMH doesn't provide enough amperage to get the torque out of the motor. If you're only planning to use .28s or .30g BBs then don't bother going above 430fps, you'll just be running higher fps with no range advantage |

Thanks for the reply.
Great info! I am looking to keep my barrel standard length because i have a tracer unit coming in. So i should look at getting a ARS cylinder/piston combo, Does this come together or buy both separate? and is it 1 size fit all kind of deal? and by Higher rate of fire, I mean I don't want it to have that electric sound, I want the gun to have a rawr when it shoots, just like the sound of a lot of bbs coming out of the barrel at once! Sorry about all the questions, i have never done this before! |
