KWA MP9 method for carrying
Hey guys, I'm just finalizing my DRM loadout, and because I'm operating a semi automatic as a primary, I wanted something that had full auto capabilities for when the sh*t hits the fan. I enjoy using my PX4 Custom, but I needed a little more "oomph" on my kit. So I bought the KWA MP9 with three magazines.
Have to say, I'm actually pretty impressed with it. Despite being second hand, it's in pretty good shape (had to make a few minor tweaks to it) and it shoots quite well. However, as it is a secondary, I need to be able to carry it on me and have it a little our of the way, yet in easy reach. I currently have it on a one-point sling, but it has no other means of being secured, and that's not really good... I tried to make a velcro rig last night to have it secure to my lower back and while it seemed sound and worked initially, when I attempted to draw the MP9, the velcro peeled off. Gluing it wasn't working so I gave up on that. So, I turn to you at ASC. If anyone has a means of securing the MP9 in such a fashion that would be beneficial to me (I wear a MOLLE full tac vest) that would be greatly appreciated. Also, if I have to purchase something, please keep it on the low end of the price range, I'm scheduled for a game soon and I still have to get various other items that are key to being able to play that day. Thanks. ~Reaver |

While not ideal, I've seen someone use a large dump pouch as an ersatz SMG holster. If you set it up right, you can draw pretty easily either by the grip or the sling, though if you have an MP9 with the fixed front grip it might snag a bit. I didn't ask how much inconvenience it caused, but it at least kept the gun from flopping around.

You could try one of these:

Hm. Thanks, Grudge (irony? lol) I like that second link, I have a drop leg MOLLE pad I could easily mount that unit to. I'll have to extend the sling to compensate of course.

Well, I can't find it right now, but I found a molle ancor point with a rifle-side "clip" that you mount on the side rail. It "locks" the rifle to your vest but there is no button or lock to operate, simply pull the gun in the right direction and it goes out.
Will try to find it again. |

I'll look it up right away. EDIT: Found the part I'm talking about : http://www.airsoftpeak.com/tactical-...k-p-10244.html Seems to use the Blackhawk mounting pattern holes for plastic belt holster or molle adapter for blackhawk holsters. Last edited by audi_bhoy; August 9th, 2013 at 23:12.. |

While nothing wrong with airsoftpeak/airsoftpark (i've ordered from them multiple times in the past with no issues) a similar part is now available more locally - airsoftdepot.com. Linking to this site, only because you have to be 18+ to get at the guns.
http://airsoftdepot.ca/catalog/produ...oducts_id=2145 in dark earth or http://airsoftdepot.ca/catalog/produ...oducts_id=2127 in basic black. I used mine for my Mp5 Swordfish.. a little bit heavy for it. |

Dude! It's low profile and practically perfect! Think I'll order one tomorrow Thanks guys! .... wait, looking at it... It'd be more ideal for a left hand player rather than a right handed one... the MP9 rail is positioned on the RIGHT side of the weapon.. Being right handed, I'd have to rotate it... Meh shouldn't be a big deal, as long as it holds. Looks quite interesting!

Are you adverse to using a magnet?
I'm not sure of the body material of the gun, but sewing a small neo magnet maybe like a 1" circle to the lower back of your vest may work for both left and right handed draw. You have the 1 point to keep it attached to you, the magnet would just keep it out of the way. Either that or a weapon catch if you're concerned with it being knocked out of place.

I'm going to purchase the rig that Kos-Mos suggested. it's the closest thing to what I had in mind.
