Just a few questions, need opionions
I have a sig 556 and a d boys m4 and my batteries have recently died on me and barely hold a charge, so I'm looking into getting lipos. my sig runs a 9.6v 1600 mah stick and my m4 the same I believe, but it's the numchuck style
1. Which lipo's are best for me to get. Size and power outrage and apprently c rating? (15c, 20c, etc...) what is that by the way? 2. I would like to get my hands on a Ics l85A2 and I was wondering if anyone has it and if you can tell me how it is, any problems, pros and cons the whole bit. Any info would do great in helping me make my decision thank you Greco69 |

Buffer tube size lipo can fit into space for stick NiMH and space for numchuck style NiMH.
For the C rating, there is a very good post, sticked in the accessories discussion section.

Thanks aha, so pretty much I can get less voltage but same mah and don't go higher than 15c. Should I bother getting mosphet? Or just be smart and not hold down the trigger lol.
Any remarks on the l85 a2? |

If you have a weird gun which is hard to get trigger contact for. If you want to buy a MOSFET for once and no more need to buy trigger contacts. If you need the features such as brust, build-in voltage monitor, active break, etc. If you have a setup (mostly the motor) which drains high current. If you want to increase the battery life a little bit. (useful if you use small battery.) If you want to increase the ROF a little bit. (A small increase... but you will be able to tell it without measuring it. ) Then yes, get a MOSFET.

First of all have you been using a smart charger with your NiMH batteries? If not, there's your issue.

Yea I have been, I guess maybe cause I haven't been cycling them, draining it all then recharging it. I do have this little set up but I use an led light. Is that recommended or not? Idk if it drains to much of the battery which is why it maybe died on me, barely holds a charge now

Oh, okay then no need to get one. I know these may be newbie questions but, I'm just inquiring to make sure I don't spend money where it's not needed or buy useless things

7.4V 1200mAH LiPo with a Gate MERF 3.2 FET is your best bet, IMO.

You don't need to cycle NiMH, only NiCD
And you can use a 60-90C LiPo without any problems. The only thing that matters about the discharge rating is that it's over the draw of the gun. |

Idk I was told by my gun doc at the time to cycle them so they last longer, so that's what I did

I find stick lipos (buffer tube) to be a little underpowered I worry about them a bit but then again I have an above average build.
7.4v 15-20C is fine you want as much mah as you can stuff wherever you're putting it. You won't really need to put a mosfet in with a 7.4 just be wary of over draining them.

turnigy nanotech has some new ones, I just upgraded my PTW from the 15C 1200 to the 25C 1200 and it's actually a smaller battery
