If i understand correctly you put in a tightbore and the fps went down 200? Did you make any other changes? Thats one massive air leak at the very least- something is very wrong

uh... you're missing vital information here... how LONG of a barrel did you put on and what cylinder is in the gearbox?

Went from a 630 mm stock barrel to a 6.01mm 650mm all seems good on hoppup.
Do not know what the cylinder is. It is stock ics l86 . No other changes except for barrel |

20mm change shouldn't be enough to fuck up the fps like that. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if there was already a bore up in that gun... 630mm is an awful lot of volume.
Your rubber isn't on correctly the barrel isn't sitting in the hopup unit correctly for whatever reason... I'd check that before throwing parts at it.

I am sure there is no bore up kit l86 comes with a 630mm standard unless that's the standard for the l86..

You installed something incorrectly, or the BB's aren't high enough quality
What brand of BBs are you using? And try re-installing the barrel into the hop unit, some people seat the hop rubber incorrectly by accident and it causes large air leaks. |

Look, if you were at 370fps then you increased the barrel volume by a measly 2% (I just did the math)
The problem is not the cylinder. What brand of BB's are you using? Last edited by ThunderCactus; July 18th, 2013 at 12:47.. |

This is the third time I'm asking you, do you want to solve this problem or not?
what brand and weight of BB's are you using? And if we assume the standard inner barrel diameter is 6.08 (which it is with almost every stock gun), then you only increased the barrel volume by 0.8%. You don't need to swap cylinders until it's over 10% difference. Last edited by ThunderCactus; July 18th, 2013 at 12:58.. |

I'm still thinking you fucked up the install somewhere.

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

Also lets keep in mind that the reduction in diameter of the barrel (from 6.08 to 6.01 or what have you) will also help to offset for the minor increase in length.
Let us ask once more. What kind of bbs are you using? Also lets try this. Remove the hopup and barrel assembly. Plug the end of the barrel and the feed tube of the hop up with your finger. Then blow into the remaining hole. Im sure you will find alot of air escaping from around the inner and hop up unit. Its the only explination. Either that or something went wrong when reassembling the gun and the nozze and hop arent sealing together properly.

Also here is what the guts look like for anyone interested
http://www.popularairsoft.com/review...support-weapon Looks like a standard nonported cylender to me but hard to say without a recerence pic. Also some more helpfull info here looks like at 650mm the cylender to barrel ratio is 1.2:1 not really ideal on all systems but if the l86 has good airseal like mp5's and AK's do i dont see it as an issue being slightly under volume. I run 455-509mm in all my 3/4 and 4/5 cylender guns and have no issues. (all m4's by the way and they have a fair ammount of loss between the hop up and nozzle due to the design of them.

Sorry guys(ThunderCactus) !! only bb bastards .25 used
so tried a couple of things put back together and got about 50 fps more so there was slight leak but still weel under 300fps .. got 380 fps with a m140 spring though.. but I do not think the mech box will able to sustain that spring. let alone the gears.. so out it goes. Just trying stuff ...it is and was in the hands of a gun doc, who is experienced and We cannot figure it out either... I turned to this forum to get some input so I apreciate every ones input. Will keep you posted thanks for the imput. I am frustrated as hell, thinking of putting the old barrel back and check the seal see if I am still getting 370 fps.
