new issue. mosfet issue



So I'm trying to do my own spring change and I've ran into a problem. When I opened the gearbox my trigger came off. Now I can get it back on but I cannot get it to stay on on its own. Is there some trick to this? The vids I've watched other peoples triggers stay in place.

Some people put a bend in the spring so it sticks better in the bottom shell, others close up the halves with the spring out and poke it in with a sharp object.

I usually hold down the piston/cylinder/spring with my left hand and use my right on the trigger or anti-reverse as needed.

Practice closing it up with no piston spring till you get the hang of it.

There is no fancy "trick", wedge the trigger until it SORT of stays in place, then gingerly assemble the rest of your mechbox.

Better quality mechboxes don't have this problem (VFC and Lonex come to mind), but I see you have some G&P thing going on there.

Nice wicker mat.

I just hold it in place, or pop it in while the other half of the shell is hovering over. It takes some dexterity, you'll get the hang of it

If you have a 3rd hand (like the soldering station kind) and it's beefy enough, sometimes that will hold the trigger in just enough for you to get the shell closed and fuck around with it.

I do bend the spring towards the bottom when the trigger doesn't stay in place, and then I gently put everything in. V3 mechboxes are even harder to get the trigger in, IMO.

i find that sticking a long thin screw driver through the spring guide all the way into the piston, then putting downward pressure on it, makes things a hell of a lot easier. also positioning the teeth of the sector gear to act as a stop for the trigger helps prevent it from flying out.

If a bend doesnt work, some mechboxes the damn thing just wont stay in, assemble with the long part of the spring on the outside of the box, and the trigger seats normal. Then close up the mechbox as normal, but before you add screws, just open the bottom part up a hair so that you can lift up the trigger spring, and pop it on the inside of the mechbox.

Had do to that with I think a Modify Torus I was working on.

Also, to manage the spring guide and spring better, use the screw out of a stock, that screws into the guide anyways, to help hold it, better than a screw driver.

So I got the trigger in and the gearbox shut but during my fiddling with the trigger I accidently broke the small plastic nub that was part of my mosfet.

The function of this nub was to be depressed into the mosfet and engage the system thus firing the gun.

basically im wondering if the mosfet is salvagable (its a good mosfet) or am I SOL and its replacement time.

You mean you broke the switch.
You could find a replacement switch, remove this one (read unsolder) and install the new one.
