Buying BDU

Did not think it is a issue. Apparently it is.

I want MADPAT or something similar with high neck. Of course I would prefer local retailer, since I want to try to wear it first.

Well, all gta stores I know does not have anything or my [regular guy] size. Will check army issue tomorrow.

My favorite retailer airsoftpark looks dead for a month now, tiger111 needs a 20 min of browsing to find a BDU with stock, even I found one, XL has a 30 inches waist pans. Well I am 36", good luck selling to dwarfs and kids.

Continue.. JK Army: "hand wash only, use cold water, no dryer". Is it a wedding dress or combat uniform?

Any places I dont know about in GTA? With a choice and sizes available?

Thanks

I was at Hero army surplus in oshawa today getting a BDU. They have a large stock of "normal guy sized" stuff and a ton of marpat. Check Army Issue first as it is closer to you but if you cant find what you want its a good bet that Hero will have it.

Hope that helps

Edit: im only guessing you ment Marpat as Ive never herd of Madpat

1) What the heck brand of BDU's are you looking at? Chinese?
2) You shouldn't ever have to clean your BDU's....like ever...
3) Sizing is easy. Just follow the charts on the manufacturer's website, and order. I'm a small-regular, and any BDU I buy from a US-based company in size S-R will fit me perfectly.

4) The uniform you're looking for with a high neck is an "ACU", not a "BDU"

And ACU is not a camo, it's a cut of uniform. ARPAT and UCP are camo patterns.

If you want good gear, any gear, whether is be BDUs, ACUs, tactical gear, holsters, etc., go to www.opsgear.com

I get almost everything from them. Reasonably priced, many shipping options, and they always have sales and promotions going on. The plethora or gear they have will take you a long time to sift through.

The "high neck" you want is called a "Mandarin Collar", and as Thundercactus said, you'll find it on modern, ACU-styled uniforms.

Army Issue on Lakeshore @stavebank would definitely be a good place to investigate, but its on the periphery of the GTA, and I'm not sure how far you're willing to travel.

the trick to washing a bdu without it fading is to use liquid baby detergent... it has no added chemicals that can mess with your colour or fading...

I have a aor chinese bdu that I bought for those rare games that I play on "Tan" teams... dont mind cheaping out for something I will rarely wear...

thanks for link, OPSGEAR has exactly what I am looking for. I will order from them if my Sunday trip to Army Issue will not be satisfying.

Gotta wash the top from the horrid sweat smell
the pants I have not washed since they got ridiculously muddy 2 years ago.
Rain games keep them clean.
Keeping them dirty keeps the ticks and mosquitoes away, and believe me, makes a very noticeable difference in mb

You think? You should smell my ghillie lmao.

For the OP most BDU are cold water powder detergent (a mild one no blech or anything harsh baby detergent works best) and hand wash or on the gentle cycle.
The "high coller" your looking for is called a manderin coller and isnt found on a BDU (battle dress uniform) its on the newerr style ACU (army combat uniform) itll be either found as clone gear (aks china stuff) or in the newer patterns like multicam and such.
Army Issue has some marpat woodland but im not sure if its BDU or ACU cut.

The high neck (mandarin collar) uniform you're talking about is called an ACU as opposed to a BDU. Look into Proper brand ACUs, they make good quality stuff in both woodland and desert MARPAT.

Beaver Surplus near 401/Dufferin carry them in stock if you want to try them on. Probably a little closer to you than Port Credit.

Edit: 3269 Dufferin Street Toronto, ON M6A 2T4

You will be doing yourself a favour by staying away from Marpat, its highly ambiguous.

Also a little secret is Ark Surplus at 963 Wilson Ave.

Could you clarify what you mean by 'ambiguous' and why it's undesirable?
