Do GBB pistols benefit from barrel spacers?
I know a lot of people do spacer mods for their sniper airsoft. Is there any merit in doing this for a pistol, does it improve accuracy? TIA.

There is merit if the original build had sloppy fitment.

I only have two AS pistols, and both exhibit some play, with KZ75 being worse of the two. So, just teflon-tape the hell out of it?
I was thinking of shimming the top of the inner barrel with a stripe from a Coke can, than taping over with teflon. Space-permitting, of course. This should bring the POI down. |

Teflon tape is one option... o-rings are better, as they absorb vibration and do a better job of stabilizing.

Thanks, I tried O-rings on the KZ75 inner, won't fit - I think the outer barrel is tapered inside?

Yes (note...for the inner barrel...not for the outerbarrel). If the build/barrel setup/etc...lends itself to doing so and everything still functions well/etc...
You can also correct some of the windage issues of pistols with non-adjustable sights. I had a G17 that shot decidedly high and to the left. By layering on duct tape on the inner barrel to counter adjust it I could bring the impact point back to where the sights were...and it increased the accuracy (consistency really) a bit. Since the sights are on the slide...and the outer barrel is "floating" in the slide...and the inner barrel is "floating" in the outer......inner barrel spacers will address one of the areas but not actually the one that affects the POI/POA. |

I taped around the inner barrel unevenly so that it would line up specifically in the outer barrel. I did that to correct much of the difference between the point of impact vs. point of aim.
So yes...both windage and elevation were altered...the majority of the problem was windage in this particular case though. Having a shot impact a bit high over the sights doesn't bother me as much as left/right correction. |

Now I got it, thanks.
Just curious, do you ever shim the hop-up area, as opposed to just the barrel? |

No...at most I'll use very thin teflon tape to wrap the rubber/barrel joint for a good airseal...or around the inner where the hopup clamps it if the fit is loose.

Thank you. Obviously, I've got a lot to learn...
