KJW m8000 Gas dumping problems and more

I just recieved an m8000 from Grim and noticed there is no hopup adjustment screw. Apears to have fallen out or never been there.

Just wondering if anybody else had the same problem and also if you might know of the correct size grub screw to use to replace it.

I would really enjoy the gun if I could use the hop up.

Also in the manual it mentions the use of a wrench to adjust it. No wrench included. Grim said the last couple in stock didn't have the wrench either. Did anybody get a wrench? Though I really don't care about the wrench being an airsofter who works on my own guns I already have the necessary hex wrenches.

Ok I tried to fire it and have another problem. I load it up cock it and I try to fire and all the gas gets dumped.

Tried a few times and once I got off sorta 1 shot with a lot of excess gas but on the second shot it dumps the rest of the mag right out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Doesn't matter what gas I use. I have both on hand and tried both. Seems like the part that strikes the mag valve must somehow stick down instead of returning to its normal position.

Sounds like the gas dumping is a typical GBB problem. Work some oil into the hammer/gas release pin to free up the action, that should help. I've dealt with the same thing with two GBBs doing the same thing, and working oil into there makes it perfect. Your case *might* be different though.

Ive never handled a M8000 but what CDN_Stalker said is a good idea. Sometimes the hammer mechanism isn't lubed enough or at all and it gets stuck in the position that the release valve on the mag is left open and like in your casem the gas is dumped. Give lubing a try and that should work.

Yeah I have read info about sticky valves and other things happening with the KJW guns like the para.

So far I have lubed it and just keep trying again and again hoping something would loosen up. No luck.

Ok I dont know how M8000 work exactly but try this

1. Take off the slide
2. Make sure there is no gas in the mag and put it in the gun without the slide on.
3. Cock the hammer and than pull the trigger and watch the release valve and see whats going on.

It worked for me to find out what was wrong with my G23 but than again i've never handled a m8000 so i dont know if it will work for you.

Yeah I did this and what happens is the piece comes down pushes the release valve and stays there.

Something I noticed that was pretty sure never happened with my m9 is you have to cock the hammer back with your thumb or rack the slide so it will fire. You just can't pull the trigger back and have it get the hammer set up to hit the release valve.

Mentioned it to Quantis (he bought two of them from Grim) and had some problem with an O-ring coming loose early on, and suggested he post his findings here.

Theres a flaw in my last post here. Looking back at my gun thers also a little lever that can go up and down on the left side of the hammer assembly that is suppressed when the slide comes back from blowing back, that is what makes the hammer retract back into place. Try fiddling with that too.
