Socom Gear Double Star 1911 Compatiblity
Hi All,
I have Socom gear 1911 here. I was curious as to its brand compatibility. I am aware of their WE connections however I have found nothing to confirm of their compatibility. Also it comes with that orange tip on the front of the muzzle. Is this just pressed into the barrel? Thanks for your time friends |

Hey, I'm running the Les Baer 1911 5" recon. It's KJW, they're mags tend to leak. The orange tip is just painted on. The gun itself, at least mine is solid. I've fired well over 1k bbs through it. Still shoots hard and accurate.

The socom gear 1911 mags are not compatible with any other brands except their own.
The socom gear/WE Les Baer 1911 is a shared design with KJW and uses the same KJW KP07/1911/MEU mags. The orange tip... If it's a plastic tip, is glued in and you'll need to heat up the barrel to pop it off. If it's an orange threaded adapter, you'll have to heat up the barrel and use a pair of vice grips to twist it off, it is positive threaded. If it's painted on, leave the barrel soaking in acetone (nail polish remover) for 30 minutes and rub the paint off with a towel. |

P.phresh is pretty much bang on. The Socom Gear Les Baer Ultimate Recon is based on the KJW KP07 which is compatible with most marui parts and marui mags. The other Socom Gear 1911 designs are based on WE 1911's so you are stuck using mostly WE parts and WE mags.
As for the orange tip I am not sure about the Double Star 1911, it looks to be a threaded or pressed on piece from pictures but I'm not 100% sure. I do know the Les Baer 1911 is just a longer outer barrel that has a painted tip. |
