Which Starter AEG's are best bang for buck?
Been talking with some friends about putting together a team but as most of the guys don't have an AEG I've been keeping my eye out for some good deals.
I'd like to keep costs around or under $200 an AEG and I came across a couple of possibilities and am wondering which is the best bang for the buck for future mods and what not in order to make them a little more slick latter on. Here are the choices: -King Arms M4A1 RIS (Nylon Fibre body) -JG M4A1 Carbine -Echo 1 STAG 15 Commando and a number of M4 variants from a Company I've never heard of before called Lancer Tactical Now, I know King Arms makes a half decent product and I would assume that the M4A1 RIS is of the same quality, but I am curious to know how the others would stack up. Our needs are fairly basic I suppose; a reliable AEG with a gearbox that can take a thrashing and can shoot somewhat straight. Not going to be too picky on that last one as it is airsoft and a tightbore and some good rubber in the hop up will fix that. Any and all opinions are appreciated, J |

the jg and echo1 stuff are decently priced shoot around 400fps out of the box are fully upgradeable, u should be happy with them, my first aeg m4 was a jg it lasted 3 years befor the gearbox cracked. That sort of thing happens at 400fps in the cold.
Get age verified read reviews and faq's watch some videos choose what u like and can afford. man i feel like i just said all this a cpl hours ago. put yer flame suit on edit, youve been here scince 2009 u didnt use any of that time to learn about airsoft guns? Im confused.

Hi Theres a lot of threads like this one and they mostly conclude that the KA is the best bang. I don't think so, 1 in 4 KA 's eats it's piston and later problems sometimes show up with semi- auto.
I believe the G & G combat machines line up is better. My brother has 2 of them we use as loaners and haven't had a minutes problem with them. My local retailer told me he has sold 20 in the last 3 months and none have come back thru the door. - no complaints at all ! The m4 variants cost between 2 to 3 hundred dollars. |

Hong Kong and china made have quality control issues compared to Taiwanese made guns, check out the G and G combat machine series, for 170 bucks you get everything you need to go out and game with it , check out my review on it. I prefer g and g as they are known solid performers on the market

see i did just say this not too long ago. yes jg is china made echo1 is an american rebrand of jg where they apparently open shim grese and qc the china made stuff, not sure if that has changed in recent years but the echo1 i just bought seems to fire more smoothly then the jg i had and just seems to feel a lil more sturdy so they may do some mfging now.

JG is not bad at all for a starter gun, and Marui compatibility means less headaches when you want to upgrade or repair. I'm more than satisfied with mine (g36c), minus the wierd wiring that came with it (unusual occurence).

Cool. Thanks for the info guys. Anyone know anything about the lancer tactical? More curious than anything. I personally have a G&G and I think its a pretty solid gun. Works well and didnt cost me a mint.

From what I've seen, the "lancer tactical" line has okay-ish internals at the cost of extremely cheap externals. I'd spend the extra one-hundred or so dollars and buy a WE M4, or as many others have suggested, a King Arms.
Then again, I don't have the time/funds to get into the hobby until spring... so my opinion is pretty moot on the matter. Last edited by Crossfire034; January 6th, 2013 at 17:08.. |
