buying internals outside canada
i know that external parts that are easily identifiable as a part of a firearm would probably not make through customs, but i was wondering if internals such as springs,shims,pistons..etc...would make it through customs...anyone verify?

As Agit once said, they can and will seize the weirdest things. Buy in Canada or take a chance.

I do regular orders from WGC of internals, and I've never had a problem. Yes, once in a blue moon, you will hear accounts of springs being seized etc, but these are so rare as to not really be worth a thought. The savings potential does outwiegh the risk in my opinion - but that's just it, you have to weigh the risk against the savings by yourself.

when you do internals orders about how much does it cost in shipping? the quotes from the wgc website aren't that definitive. i wouldn't order anything huge, just like a cylinder, spring guide, nozzle, etc. the biggest thing would probably be the tappet plate.

The orders I've made to WGC choosing EMS Speedpost -> Canada Post are at least on average $20 USD, more for larger & heavier packages. Recently I've had players tell me I was damn lucky customs didn't seize my P226 metal slide. Funny thing is, that went through after one day, my flash hider for my G36C took 4 days. I always considered the full metal upgrades for AEGs or GBBs the ones customs would seize outright.

Gryph is pretty spot on - shipping thru WGC is expensive with EMS. I usually get a group together and do an order that way, splitting $25-$30 in shipping between 2 or three individuals is not too bad, especially if you're after a hard to find or must have part.
