cutting inner barrels

can you do it? because i have a sig 552 and i'm gonna get a stock m4 length inner barrel, then cover it with a silencer...but i can't find any around here (vancouver area)...and i don't wanna pay for shipping on such a cheap item...so could i get an ak length barrel and just cut it to 363mm?

I wouldnt recomend cutting it. If there is one tiny little bur or inconsistency left from cutting it, it'll fuck everything up. Bring it to a machine shop and get it lathed. Also, if you look inside the barrel, there is about a 4 mm taper. Should be able to do that on a lathe as well.

edit: oh yeah, and if you do get it lathed, you can cut it to a longer length of about 440mm, depending on your suppressor.

As long as you dremmel around the inside to remove anything that will catch the bb, you can cut it to any length.

edit: Dont cut it all at once, or for too long at one time. The heating up of the barrel could melt your hopup.

Pipe cutting tool and CHAMFERING tool. Add some care and experience.

Or bring it to someone who knows how. (That applies to anything airsoft related).

... I hope you didn't hacksaw it already... You should have asked me. I got a mini lathe I can cut and crown your barrel perfectly in seconds.

Sorry that I haven't been reading around here for a while. I can still fix it up for you if you did a bad job LOL.
