Semi-auto only and lock ups

OK so i have a RealSword SVD and i've come to find it tends to lock up fairly often.

Are there any other tricks you can do beside useing a stronger battery/motor to speed up the cycle?

do you mean on of the fancy ones where you can remove the ARL?

Do you suggest a particular model(cheaper the better

I already have a simple one installed...

Stronger battery is going to be your best option.

don't half pull the trigger... pull it all the way back and wait for the gun to cycle completely before releasing.

a mosfet won't entirely fix your issue... it will improve it by improving power efficiency and delivery, however what's happening is you're releasing the trigger partially in a gear cycle and the motor/battery don't have enough power/torque to turn it over out of that dead spot. More power in battery will get you a faster response but you can still lock up the gearbox if you stop it mid cycle.

I don't trust a mosfet to replace the arl, also to replace the arl, the battery is continuously discharged to hold the motor in place, it's not so good for motor life.

I had huge issues with lockups on a 9.6 or 7.4 lipo, 11.1 lipo works like a charm in it.
