Best sniper in airsoft?

I'm looking to get into sniping for woodsball and outdoor play, any suggestions? I don't know many good snipers out there in the airsoft world.

I meant airsoft sniper GUNS. Not players, but I bet he is very good. But you know what I'm talking about.

OH sniper rifles ok. well you should have been clearer in your thread title, and question.

well there are plenty of threads regarding what a good rifle is.
TM VSR-10 seems to be the standard most are compared to.
there are the clones and such.

Depends on your budget, what style, type, etc.. you are looking for.
And if you really are interested in the sniper role, I suggest heading out to a sniper clinic, hosted by the all mighty Mr.Shiney.

Thanks. I'll be sure to check it out.

Take your pick:

- TM VSR-10
- CA M24
- Maruzen APS2

Gut it out and install either all PDI parts or all Laylax (AKA Prommy/NineBall) parts.

To get it shooting well (as in *slightly* better than a stock AEG), all you need is a bucking and a barrel. To get it shooting better than that you'll need to gut it all out, install those upgrade parts, and do some hand tuning. You'll also need to get a bunch of parts for reliability (namely the Laylax Zero trigger or PDI V Trigger depending on the type of cylinder/piston setup you decide to go with, there are pros and cons to both systems, IIRC one you can get the trigger pull super feather light while the other has other pros/cons).

Expect to spend $1000+ on the gun and upgrade parts.

I bought a JG BAR-10 (supposed to be a pretty good TM clone) because it shot high enough FPS out of the box to be allowed in the country, and thus I got it for stupidly cheap. I then proceeded to work over some of the parts to improve the fit and finish, change a pile of things including barrel, hopup, trigger sears etc, and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Good cheap way to introduce myself to airsoft sniping without breaking the bank.

Something to consider...

TM L96 with full PDI upgrade like me. Dead accurate, especially if you practice by plinking around with toothpicks.

+1 assembled by amos.

500 fps.

Engaged target at 200 ft and got them out.

Actually I've been hearing from some people the JG BAR-10 isn't terribly bad for a base platform and is generally to spec so it's not like you're getting a shit base platform. Plus with prices normalizing it's a decent-ish rifle to get even if you go back to using an AEG and just use the BASR for dicking around your cottage/cabin/farm/backyard/basement.

BUT there's something that nags me to not recommend it if you want to build "the ultimate sniper rifle" because even if it's generally to spec and you can get it shooting well it's still all about the base. Build a house on a shitty foundation and it can sink on you, build a house on a good solid foundation with proper piles driven into the ground and it can withstand small earthquakes.

All Sniper rifles are general not very effective out of the box. anything that is TM compatible is good. and VSR would be a good bet. There are sevral guides on youtube telling you what to upgrade.
