Crushed Nubbins Anyone?

Does anyone have a problem with the little nubbin in the hop-up on armalite V2 with both systema or Guarder metal hopups getting crushed after very short use? If so, do you have any observations or advice? On two guns I have an ongoing problem with this - I put in new nubbins and within a *very* short period of time (one month?), the hopup no longer functions... I am pulling my hair out of my head...

So the nubbins come out all mashed or are they missing?

very strange. Do you find that you have to crank the hop up all the way up when you put everything back together? I'm wondering if the hop up window might be improperly lined up with where the nubbin pushes down on the hop up sleeve.

Gump installed them both for me, so I am assuming there are no installation issues, as he knows what he is doing.

I tune my hopup by putting it to the max to get it to go "up" and then pull back a bit at a time to maximize distance...

try making a new one from wire insulation, and only go about half hop and adjust from there. The Metal hop up may have more range then the stock one and it is too far in, and getting hammered against the window. My Tanaka M700 took the entire hop up assembly minus the dial out the barrel with it, so anything's possible.

I'm baffled. I can't imagine how the nubbin is getting pressed that hard. There's some compliance in the hop up sleeve bump. What does the nubbin look like when it's mashed? Is it smeared out or is it just folded flat? It might help to replace the nubbin with a small bit of urethane tubing which is more resiliant.
