Depending on the brand of gun, it could use a full internal rebuild. Take it to a local gun doc

You should check the brand of SIG 556 that this is and report back to us. There's a pretty big difference between models out there.

Also, warning: you might get some flack for using the term "full automatic sniper"

It's better to say that you just want to your gun to shoot far, fast, and snappy, all without breaking. It is not hard, but you have to take care of a lot of separate parts and how they all interact.

Eleven steps to an upgraded AEG that will fire better than all your friends' guns:

1) Use a more powerful spring. This not only pushes your piston harder to get your BB moving faster, but also ensures your piston is less likely to pre-engage your gears (i.e. collide with them during high rate of fire motion).

2) Clean, Rebuild and Check compression system from front to back - o-ring stretch fix, Teflon tape, better nozzle w/ o-ring, clean and re-grease, check hopup is pushed against gearbox, seal the bucking (use dental floss if you have to), use a quality bore barrel, clean your barrel regularly. This enables your gun to shoot far and consistently with stable feeding. You will be using a lot of search and Google at this stage, there are tons of guides both text and video to get you going here. Also see point #10 below, these points go hand-in-hand.

3) Use a piston that doesn't suck. This is important if you're using fully-automatic fire with a strong spring at a high rate of fire, which puts a tremendous amount of stress on the teeth. A lot of people including myself will recommend something like the SHS blue piston, or the Lonex pistons. ASC user Stealth sells these at airsoftstore.ca , you can always ask him for advice if you get confused on selection.

4) Correct the angle of engagement on the piston with a Sorbothane pad or similar solution (search for "AoE" guides). This allows for high rate of fire without destroying the piston AND protects your gearbox shell in some shell designs (v2 for example). Your gearbox will have a slightly higher chance of surviving through winter if you do this. This step will involve cutting small teeth made out of hardened/heat-treated steel. You will need a Dremel tool, and you might want to get diamond-coated bits for maximum convenience

5) Install faster gears. This will improve trigger response, and good aftermarket gears are often stronger than stock gears. Don't go faster than 13:1. If you're just getting started and are likely to get overwhelmed by the technical challenges of 13:1, then 16:1 gears are an excellent compromise that balances both needs.

6) Install a high torque motor with strong magnets (neodymium magnets - your motor should be able to stick to your fridge, HARD). Coupled with speed gears, this will give you higher trigger response, and the ability to actually pull the powerful spring. Possibly the most important or second-most important upgrade in this list.

7) Rewire the trigger assembly to use a MOSFET. This is the most important part of allowing #1, #5, #6, and #9.

8) Rewire battery connectors to Deans or XT60. Absolutely necessary in order to use more powerful batteries.

9) Use a LiPo battery. This will feed your motor the power it needs to accomplish high RoF and snappy trigger response with a hard spring. Throw away your gun's wall charger, get a LiPo balance charger. Spend a few hours discovering the wonders of hobbyking.com .

10) Learn how to install R-Hop. Even the process of preparing an R-Hop installation will give you more expertise about hopups, compression, bucking, and barrels than you ever wanted to know, and R-Hop is the go-to solution for making your BBs go as far as they possibly can without robbing them of velocity in the hopup chamber. This is critical for your "sniper".

11) Learn to shim your gearbox. Buy fine shims (0.1mm, 0.15mm) and shim your gears and adjust your bevel gear and motor's pinion gear to perfection until your gun has no whine during fire. This is extremely important to the entire operation of your gearbox.

Make sure you ask a lot of questions as you go through this list. Everybody pretends to be an all-knowing expert on the forum, but the truth is that we all learn a ton of new stuff every time a new person goes through this process and encounters unique challenges.

yea sorry didnt really mean a legit sniper, but the brand of the gun is a cybergun sig sauer 556. i dont want to overkill it where it pretty much peirces someones skin, i basically just want it to shoot farther and faster with out it breaking in to fine little pieces. i also read alot of threads on other sites saying that the gear box on this gun is pretty much the biggest pain to get with and most of the time breaks the gun shell when trying to acess it. Now is the stock gear box in this gun capable of withstanding a highpower spring with that piston u were talking about and an upgraded motor? Cause id like to get out as much as possible with this gearbox until it breaks. Also my gun came with a high powered spring(no idea what type it is, any way to identify it would be much appreciated so i can tell you guys what i have) and i had to downgrade it to a m120(#sp120) or else my pistion teeth would strip with in the first mag of firing. are the parts off of airsoftparts.ca of good enough quality for all this? i still have lots to learn gotta bare with me

forgot to add, would like it to be between 420-450fps with .20
