Going do a DMR project. wondering if you guys know any good things to do to the hop up. thinking of running it around 400-420. so far all I have is an H hop. any suggestions?

A few ideas:
1) R-Hop. Try it out, experiment with it, etc The actual R-Hop patch kit (the "z kit") itself is dirt cheap, highly weather resistant, and top of the line. 2) REAPS. This is another interesting bucking design, if R-Hop is too much for you, some folks have got results of this patch. I have one in the workshop waiting to be tested out, so I can't give you results yet, but from what I've seen reported they aren't bad. 3) Try methods of sealing your bucking so that absolutely no compression is lost in the hopup unit. Some people wrap the barrel in a thin and narrow layer of Teflon tape. Others use the dental floss mod. Maekiii from Finland has a nice video on how to pull this off. It takes some practice, but I've found it works brilliantly: Hopup perfect seal mod DIY (floss mod) Airsoft - YouTube 4) In the area of "normal" buckings and normal nubs, I am personally partial to the Madbull red shark bucking with the H-nub. I've had a lot of luck with these, they seal well, come in packs of two, are inexpensive, and seal well in a number of hopup units (I use the Modify Accurate Hopup unit).

If r-hop is too intimidating and all you want to try is a regular hopup bucking... the PDI w-hold gave me nice results in the p90 before going to r-hop.
I do recommend though that if you decide to install an rhop, that you thoroughly research fixing any and all compression issues before installing the r-hop. If you have a wildly swinging fps, installing r-hop won't help you. |

the easiest thing to do is what MaciekA mentioned, teflon tape around the bottom end of the hop up rubber...
Ive done it to different rubbers, stock and upgraded, most times I get an extra 15 ish fps... forget all that though, check out the "j-hop" lol ... I got a stock barrel sitting around that I might try this out with J-Hop Prototype (airsoft) - YouTube
