ICS M4 Paint Job Tips

I haven't found a thread regarding this specific question so I hope you can help me out. I'm looking to repaint my ICS M4 (all metal). I have no idea what kind of metal it is so if anyone knows it would help me figure out what chemical to use to strip the paint. Otherwise I'll just use a high PH acetone and hope for the best.

So - what metal is the ICS M4 body?
- what are some other tips for repainting a gun?

Thanks.

I used Duplicolour Engine Enamel (Low Gloss Black) to refinish some parts. The finish is great, though you do have to bake the parts in the oven to get a really nice finish. This may not be an option depending on the material.

Thanks for the brand. I was going to either go with Krypton or Tamiya Enamel paints. The external metals MIT be carbon steel, cause its definitely no stainless but it's too light for steel.

I also decided to forgoe any acid baths because of my uncertainty of the material and will rent time at a sand blaster and strip it with silica glass to avoid gouging soft metal (if it's soft).

Blast + primer + paint = hopeful success.

Now for the big decision. Flat black or flecktarn to match my BDU?
