RA-Tech WE M4/M16 nozzle

Received the first batch of my RA-Tech WE M4 today, will be receiving more later. First impressions are really good at this point, the the nozzle is 3x heavier than the stock nozzle, and the finish is simply beautiful (I was surprised at how well the mini striations appeared on the nozzle. It comes with a nozzle return spring, built-in NPAS and the npas key to adjust the FPS. Adjusting the FPS is much easier since you do not need to insert a thin tool to stabilize the window of the npas while turning with the key. The only down side is the cost, as it is not exactly cheap to order one of these. There is a small grub screw at the back of the nozzle, not sure what it does yet, but will find out shortly after I install it in my guns. Lets hope the nozzle works!

That looks great. Really looking forward to seeing your chrono results. Will you be bringing in the complete nozzle/steel bolt replacement combo? Very interested in that.

How's the inter-shot consistency? I remember there was a video at one point and the FPS seemed all over the place.

And how much impact does the heavier bolt/nozzle have on performance?

I had that problem too, but after the mall game (when I was using Madbulls instead of Bastards) I noticed the BB got mashed up instead of breaking the nozzle. Coincidence? Maybe. We'll see if it happens again.

Same thing happened to me, using the Madbull you sold me! I didn't realize it and broke my nozzle.

Ive got some spare new plastic nozzles that I won't be needing anymore since I got the aluminum ones.. Will install the nozzle and run some tests, still working on my AK at the moment..

I wonder if its really the bb's that shatter the ''loading prong'' of the nozzle?

It might more more the way the back of the part that hold the bbs is designed that is the problem. It is flat and the bolt-muzzle has some play. I modified that part (at an angle) and will test it as soon as i can.

Will still buy one muzzle for testing as well.

Not sure which part broke on AlLeBlanc's gun, but on mine and someone else's, it was the outer edge of the bolt which broke (pretty much cosmetic only). And it was definitely the result of BBs.

The aluminum nozzle slides really smoothly within the bolt, much smoother than the stock plastic nozzle. I have 4 more aluminum nozzles arriving for testing with RA-Tech's new steel nozzle guides.

Here is a video of the aluminum nozzle in action: RA-Tech Aluminum Nozzle for WE M4/M16 GBBR (Airsoft) - YouTube

FPS Values with 0.20g bbs

487.2
491
487.2
485.3
484.2
425.8
495.6
500.2
487.2
508.3
487.5
499.5
508.3
507.3
485.3

Looks pretty consistent to me... except for the odd outliers..Im not really worried about the high fps as I can tune down the NPAS (I'll dial the npas all the way down to see what is the lowest FPS for for the purpose of gaming), im more interested in the consistency from shot to shot..

Thanks for shooting the video. That answered many questions. The numbers look nice and consistent, but, like you say, way too hot. Looking forward to your readings with the NPAS wide open.
