I realize systema receivers will fit systemas.... I was more asking about some of these we m4/ systema m4 uppers i see, do the we m4 uppers work and other ooptions that wont cost him like $500-600 for a complete upper.

Nobody said that Systema receivers will fit Systemas... I think that's a given and obvious answer.
WE is for WE PTW is for PTW. Different brands make them specifically for PTW... but if it says it's for a WE, then it won't fit a PTW. It has to say it's for a PTW. Same goes for Marui-spec AEG, Western Arms, G&P WOC, KJW, etc... they are all proprietary specs for each respective design, and cannot cross-fit with other specs with at least a few modifications. Some will require heavy modifications, and some will not fit at all.

Ok I got you, I wasnt sure if there was any cross compatable platforms that would work in this case. Do you have any recommendations/suggestions of companies that make a good upper for the ptw (super-max)? I am not sure if there are any differences in the super-max set up vs. a regular ptw or max series
I have a bad habit of reffering to PTWs as "systemas" sorry about that. |

Yes, but they're marketed as being for PTW's. What I mean, is that unless it's marketed otherwise, you can't assume they will fit. For example, I can't take an OEM upper receiver for a WE and expect a PTW cylinder to drop in without mods... because it won't. They're not directly cross compatible.

*EDIT* The original WE gun was used, so it might have been modded for PTW and still work for WE. But there was no visible "grinded" spots or places where the black finish was removed (other than dings and scratches). |

WE receivers have the notch at the back of the receiver that PTW's require to align the cylinders?

I could not say, it was not my rifle.
But the operation consisted of taking the receiver off the WE, removing bolt, removing RIS and nut, removing barrel/hop-up setup. Reverse with PTW parts. Then put PTW "bolt" in and close it. As I said, it might have been modified previously but it worked. And I don't think anyone makes PTW HK416 uppers yet... |

In the beginning of September, FCC will have a complete HK416 conversion for PTW. In that cases, you can just buy their complete upper receiver.

Real Steel upper is my recommendation...just a little trimming to accommodate that cylinder and you are good to go ...

Well strip AR upper is not expensive compare to Prime upper, just a matter of time to modify those either by rotary tool or machine. As for complete HK416, that is kinda overkill, personally I don't mind drop 2K for upper but headache and hassle to import HK part is not worth it.
