Good starter AEG?

Me and some friends recently decided we wanted to make an airsoft group.
I'm just getting into airsoft, and i have about 100-160 dollars to buy something.
I want to get myself an AEG, but I can only find one or two good, low priced ones.

I was just wondering if, by chance, any of you would know where i could get (in canada) a good AEG for that price, or what type to get (M16, G36, AK 47, etc.)

any help would be much appreciated.

Forum rules, we cannot tell you where to buy guns until you're age verified.

Most people will tell you that you need to spend at least $300 to get a good gun and I'm one of them. There are some anomalies out there in the upper end of your price range that, provided you get a well made and assembled one are good performers for what they are. The Aftermath Kraken (AK) being probably the best of those. But don't misunderstand IMO any AEG you can get for $160 or less probably isn't worth the money. Whereas if you spend twice that, you would get an AEG that would last you 10 times as long, if not longer. If you can up your price range to about $230 I would recommend a King Arms Nylon bodied M4A1, that gun is worth the money.

As far as what model of gun you should get thats really best for you to decide. Different gun suit different people, I can't tell you what will suit you best.

Save up a bit more to get king arms m4 then save up again to get good gear like better mask, vest & battery... and buy good bbs. You can't buy a gun for $160 so just save up...The things you need will add up to big $$$ So make sure you really want to play airsoft

bare minimum is about 250$ that's for a partially clear gun, 300 will get you into a full metal at entry level.

You also need to consider proper battery if your gun doesn't come with, a proper charger if your gun doesn't come with.

Goggles

Boots

BBs

You're probably looking at closer to 600$ to start playing at a minimum.

If you buy those 160$ guns, you'll be throwing your money away, they'll be broken within a few games, and the games you do play with people who have nicer guns, you'll be outranged by close to 1/3 more, sometimes even 50% more range on the 300$ gun.

You cannot afford airsoft right now. Nothing a summer job can't fix!
