Gun: Tokyo Marui M16a2
that small part right underneath the nozzle that the hop up rests on, that the bbs feed up into.

heres the pic.

I must have tightened the screw too hard and cracked the screw hole.

thanks guys!

(p.s. I did search for the part name everywhere, but I couldnt find it sorry)

Sounds like the upper part of the hop-up unit.

It's the lower half of a two piece hopup unit.

As long as the lower part isn't flopping around, it'll be fine even if the plastic is cracked. As long as it's there and not moving around, you're ok.

Back the screw off a bit so as not to over stress things. You can try to crazy glue it, but it may not hold and it's not necessary to do so. DON'T glue it to the receiver...that piece needs to come out for the mechbox to come out.

I'd hazard to guess that 60-70% of the setups with the two piece hopups have a crack (or two...one on each side) just like yours.

I have a 2 piece hop up unit on order - dont buy one, I'll have an extra bottom.

m102104 is spot on. I've cracked mine numerous times in several AEGS and just crazy glued them and was cautious the next time I put a screw in.

SRC makes metal lower pieces to the hop up, so is that Prometheus one - however I dont like the idea of plastic upper to metal lower combining with hop up units.

There's nothing wrong with having a metal lower with a plastic upper half. It's better that way as the bottom part takes a beating when you slam in a mag. The lower just feeds the upper so it doesn't affect performance, or the upper in any way.
@CROM, get a metal lower if you can and you won't have to worry about it anymore.
