http://starairsoft.com/S_AEG_03.htm
Well if the CA's are too much these might be cheap. Course the quality could be horrendous. Its says the gearbox is plastic am I reading that right? Could the whole gun be plastic u think? hehe Anyhow still be be cool to get if price is cheap enough. |

"TO INCREASE POWER IN FEW MINS."???
Maybe you have to hand-crank the power supply. :hammer: |

Oh, how convient... http://www.intrudershop.com/show_pro...?idproduct=672
I wonder if it'll be any different in design then previous m249's. Then again, Star and Guarder have been working together recently... |

I think they are talking about quick spring changes but you can never be sure. |

Wow, I have to admit I'm very intrigued...a 249 with enough work put into it to make it worthwhile has always been out of my price range before...could be fun if the bang for the buck is good enough! 400 fps from a plastic gearbox is pretty impressive if the gearbox has any reliability at all.

Certainly looks impressive.
But only time will tell regarding its durability in the field.

Yea, and the firerate seems nice too. Appearantly they are making a m249 para, a UMP, and a nicely pimped m14 aeg. Perhaps its time for a new rival for all the AEG makers?
I just hope they dont shoot at the power of a mini. Cheers, Alex |

plastic gear box doesnt mean it's going to be crap plastic. Some plastics are stronger than steel. Just FYI.

Thought Id revive this thread. There is now a pic of the gearbox online:
http://starairsoft.com/Gear_Box.JPG Took be well over a minute to download Looks impressive, but the gears are plastic (just like most AEGs anyway). Appearantly it will last 5000 rounds atleast... doesnt seem like a lot for a LMG! Cheers, Alex ...they misspelled design... |

Anyhow it doesn't show the gears just the gearbox. I can see how a plastic gearbox might work. But not plastic gears. Probably like AEG's it will have metal gears. Though then again if will last only 500 rds then maybe they are. Where did you get the info it will only last 5000 rds. That would be a pretty horrible marketing thing for any company to post up. With my 249 I generally went thru a bag of bb's a game so 5000 isn't many in that type of gun. |

I think ancorp made a mistake. There is a picture with a caption "After 5000 rounds within 1 hours runtime" (something to that effect).
What STAR really wanted to show is that there is no wear on the mechbox and no cracking after 5000 rounds. |
