Suggestions on removing paint from a receiver

I have this:

and I need to strip it. I know certain chemicals can react with the aluminum and sandblasting may change the tolerances or pitt the metal. I do not have a test piece to try different processes on.

Acetone maybe? For sure it should have no or minimal effect on Alu and Steel. Careful though, it destroys a lot of plastics.

PS: Ohhh, is that a GBBR build you're doing?

Use Automotive gasket remover
(do test inside mag well if nervous about metal reaction)
Spray wait about 15 minutes
Scrub with soft scotch brite (finger not machine) then clean with liquid soap and water
dry
Repeat until bare
Degrease
Repaint
Some corners become bomb proof on these things
Be patient

And don't worry too much about the old 2d
etchings, they become invisible under the new paint

ps Repaint with MULTIPLE thin coats and let cure the maximum time before using

Been glass blasting guns real and airsoft for the last 8 years and never had an issue. Sand blast is indeed to harsh but a good glass blast with 400 grit media wont change mutch

Thanks all. I think I will try to find a local sandblaster that can do it and won't get freaked out. Hard thing to do.

Yes, if you look at the crap I've been stockpiling for the past year or so, I have a very nice build on the way. I don't wanna give too much away but all I can say is it will be verrrrry nice and as authentic as can be lol.
