TM M16a2 good buy?

Hey guys. I know I've recently created a similar thread, but I like to consider myself as a smart buyer, so I made some researches and stumbled accross this Tokyo Marui m16a2, almost unused, without any upgrades, for 150$.

I know it's worth more, but it's kinda of an old gun, and I think it would need some upgrades to be on par with modern airsoft guns. I'm willing to do these upgrades but would it be a better deal than an Ics sig 551 (270$), which is already pretty good when "sotck"?

Anyway, once more, would it be a good buy???

Thanks again!

Where the heck are you getting a TM M16 for $150?

$150?

Sounds suspicious to me. But if you can testfire it and check it out first then by all means go ahead.

As far as upgrades go, don't touch the internals until something breaks. Ideally you'd use it for indoor CQB but if you really need to bring up the speed of the BB's then an M110 spring (you should be aiming for between 350-380 FPS on .20's here) and using .25's or .28's will do the trick to make it a super viable outdoor gun. Just need to lead your shots a bit since the BB will be going even slower if you use .25's or .28's.

Yeah I would get the chance to testfire it, and a spring change is a must because I wanna play mostly outdoors.

Oh and I'll keep my sources, not like if they were anything special, just because I dont want somebody else to buy it before I do.

Anyway thanks again, I think I will buy both! (the m16 and the sig 551)

If it's from the US you can forget about getting it.

What Styrak said. You cannot import airsoft without a bunch of legal red tape which we cannot give out.

If it's not from the US, go nuts. Might want to test it before buying though.

Haha I know the FEB 2012 registration date on my accout may seem like I would do such a thing (buying from the US) but ive been on these forums since 2008. I know how that works.

For $150 for a full TM M16, who cares if it even works? As long as it's structurally intact, any repair to it would be cheap and easy.

I love my Tm m16a2 ... stock it shot 280fps, I put a m100 in it to start then a 110 now a 120. I liked it better with the 110 even if the fps was lower. I also bought a bunch of upgrades but decided the stock stuff was better.

I'm not gonna take away from the TM fan base but im gonna put my 2 cents in about ICS.

I swear by it - i've gone through g&g, CA, VFC, SRC, and even TM. I've stuck with ICS since i received my CXP but now the CQB M4

The split gear box is a feature that I love - it makes quick change for springs and compression issues so much easier to deal with - especially for a beginners perspective.

Not to mention ICS has some of the best STOCK gears (again my opinion not to butt hurt those against) as well as their hop up unit.

Currently I have a Modify m120 spring, Modify Quantum piston, Modify alum piston head, and mask v2 cylinder. Im shooting way over 400fps with .20gs due to the compression being set perfectly - i'll probably have to downgrade to a 110 or 100 to meet field regulations - and thats WITHOUT a tightbore barrel..im still using the stock one.

With my ICS i was out ranging many long barrelled AEGs but the best part was that it was with a CQB length.

I'd look into some form of M4 from ICS.

**Not meant to take away from the TM M16A2 at all. My homie Cr0M swears by it and his is fantastic - its a beast on the field. I just feel ICS deserves a bit more credit than it gets.

ICS is the sleeper of the AEG world.

The guy who was selling it took 4 day to answer, and just for telling me it was already sold...

Too bad, I've seen an TM ak47 for 300$ which seem to be a good deal too.
