Fed up of feeding issues.

My VFC M416 CQB is not feeding properly and it's been driving the heck out of me.

I have an upgraded Hopup unit installed. It's Kingarms' Enhanced hopup Unit, which has a little O-ring on the mag intake duct.

For the system to feed properly, I have to push the mag upwards into the hopup. Otherwise, it does not feed at all. At first I thought the o-ring was the problem, because the original VFC hopup unit doesn't have any o-rings.
Removing the o-ring didn't fix the problem, though.

Could it be that the hole on the mag just does not align with the mag catch properly, causing the whole mag to sit a little farther away from the hopup?

I am having this issue with both of my mags (D-boys metal highcap & original VFC HK416 mag)

Did it feed properly before you changed the hopup?

It fed a little better, but not at an acceptable level.

I just stuck some soft velcro on the inside of the magwell (one small piece at the bottom back, towards the trigger, and another at the top front, towards the muzzle). My feeding is now a lot better, but the mod does not feel permanent. I have to insert to mag carefully so that it does not scrape off the veclro.

are you sure the hopup spring that pushs the hopup backward is still in place?

If you push the mag upwards, and it feeds perfect, the problem is between the mag catch and the hole in the mag. It's a common issue

Once I upgraded to a madbul hopup my plastic mags stopped working. My metals worked great. Not enough strength In The spring i guess
