Jedi Costume

I realize that i may catch some shit and be laughed at for posting this, but whatever. I have hobbies other than airsoft, and one of my most recent ones happens to be costume making. My Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell) outfit isn't finished as i lack the proper funds at the moment. Opinions are welcome. If you have something negative to share, then I only ask that you post it in the form of "Constructive Criticism" but by posting these pictures, i fully realize that i am subject to being "dissed" so if you absolutely feel that you need to throw the tomatoes at me, then i accept that as part of the consequences of posting these pictures on a public forum. I wore this outfit to school on Wednesday June 15th partially for an English Project, but moreso because i just felt like it. I got an A on the project

I'm currently trying to find a set of horse riding boots for a reasonable price, because 10 inch Corcoran boots don't exactly look very "Jedi" like.

Enough talk, here's the pictures (Warning...i look pretty drunk/stoned in the pictures. It was 1 or 2am and i had just finished the costume so i was pretty tired).

I do realize that my acne is pretty bad. But i'm 14...give me a break.

well, the costume look very good.
The material don't look the same as on the film, but who really care.

Have your lightsaber photoshopped to make it look real

being 14 and making that costume....that is a good job. When I was 14 I'd probably just stitch my thumbs together...

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Fox,
I would have bought the proper material for the costume if i had the extra $30. Believe me. But all i had was $40, so i had to get as close as possible. The thing i like about the Cotton material i chose is that it's very breathable and doesn't get very hot. The material used in the movies was pretty hot and would have you wanting to take the costume off in no time. The robes in the movies were made of wool, but again, for the sake of comfort, i chose a more breathable material that was still heavy and prety warm. Polyester.

In this case, it's a very good compromise.

I'd love to see your Fisher wetsuit looking costume. Did you used a wetsuit?

Unfortunately, the main part of the costume for my Sam Fisher getup is not finished. In the original games, he used BDU pants and what looked to be a wetsuit top. I plan on using Underarmor due to the fact that it's form fitting and pretty tight, giving the "Spy" look. The goggles are currently a work in progress. I finished epoxying the pvc tubes onto some diving goggles where the lenses of the tubes are made of plexiglass. The Green LEDs are also wired up and just need to be wired to the external switch i'm rigging as well as a 9volt battery. The green LEDs give the "glow" that you see in the games. However, since LEDs don't exactly glow, but look more like a pinpoint light, i'm putting scotch tape over the lenses to spread the "glow" instead of having it look like 3 little green dots on each lens. I'll post pictures when the costume is finished, but i hope to finish it by the end of the year. Being 14 and your only source of income is lawn mowing and babysitting can really screw things up sometimes. I make it a point to take full responsibility of my hobbies. Airsoft included. That means i pay all expenses unless the rare occasion arises that my parents offer to pay for something that is related to my hobbies. I never ask them to pay for any of my hobbies. It's the least i can do since they feed me, love me, and give me a place to live.

Fox, i also noticed that you're located in Quebec. My older brother lives in Quebec and i've interested him in airsoft. He's in Saint Foy.

I think St-foy is a little far from where I live and play, but if he is willing to travel a little and he is legal to play, I will be glad to meet and play with him!

You seam to be a pretty good guy. I bet you will be a good airsofter in time too judging by your attitude and maturity AND devotion!

Keep up the good work!

Dude, your costume looks cool, stop putting yourself down.

You should go in with the attitude that you've done a good job, not "here is what I did, please don't laugh at me and don't look at a common facial problem that most teens suffer from".

Take some pride in your work!

From one jedi to another.

I'm not really trying to put myself down. I've been awake for the past 28 hours, so my word choice is a bit off

Thanks again for the compliments.
