WE to make aegs?!
Hey people!
So, I'm "liking" Airsoft GI on facebook, and apparently, according to airsoft GI, WE tech would produce AEGs soon. Now, I don't know what you guys think, but that would go against James Chan's words, that WE would stick to GBB guns!

I like their GBBRs, Kinda like their gbbs as budget guns but I don't think I like the idea of a WE AEG unless somebody else makes the internals.

There's no reason to assume they'll be good or bad. They (apparently) make gas rifles you guys like, but they also make sorry excuses for sidearms. Could go either way.

I think James made a commitment to the blowback action.... not necessarily Gas Blow back (maybe I'm wrong here?).
Maybe they've found a way to make EBB not so laughable? |

Well, I, for one, actually appreciate having more choices so I encourage WE to continue to stretch their boundaries.
From what I've been following (and from a certain experience perspective), WE as an airsoft manufacturer today is leaps and bounds better than they were just a few years ago. So I can only imagine where they will be a couple years from today. They are a very fast and progressive company with a lot of potential to make exciting things happen. They seem to have the capital base, the economies of scale and most importantly, the will to branch out and experiment. We would be damned lucky if all companies were as progressive. Unfortunately, most are not. |

I expect that WE has agreed to market another makers products in exchange for licensing agreements for the use of Trademarks that the AEG maker has authorization to use.
FNP90 HK MP5 come to mind Same as Car companies will often rebadge a competitor's product and sell it in exchange for technology sharing, and manufacturing inefficiency.

You're not the first to make a comment like that, yet I'm amazed how many times, in the middle of a battle, someone will turn to me and remark about how much they like the sound of my Aries G36 EBB. If have to use an AEG, an EBB AEG is the gun for me (though I always prefer GBBRs).

Interesting thoughts guys! I don't disagree with the EBB concept, but I know some EBBs have the tendency to break!
Coming from WE Tech, the externals will be awesome, but internally, I don't know!!! I guess the mystery will stay until those aegs will be released!

I think I like the idea of EBBs a lot. While I love the kick that pistols provide, I find filling gas a pain in the ass. Nothing sucks more than having a clear shot on someone, then squeezing the trigger to hear a little fizzing noise and realize that your mag is out of gas. If electric recoil could ever be as loud/kick as hard as gas, I'd switch over for sure.
For now, I consider EBBs are novelty that got sidelined by GBBRs. I've also heard many complaints regarding the weak parts that power the recoil system in them. I think it's also expensive to fix/adopt because it hasn't really caught on.

This morning, Redwolf leaked pictures of gearboxes with WE's logo stamped on them. Seems legit.
