G36 to M4 Magwell Conversion Import?....

I've gone over the laws about importing airsoft gear because I wanted to import a bunch of magazines (no fake bullets) and a magwell conversion for the G36 to use M4 magazines.

My question is...does that part count as the lower receiver? I just want to clarify...

EDIT: Forgot to ask something else...

Which of the following would work best with with Magpul Green Label 75Round Mid Cap?
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/magazines...eries-aeg.html
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/magazines...eries-aeg.html
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/magazines...-magazine.html

So far, from what I've read, the Battleaxe or the Star one seems to be the best...

Should be fine to import. Unfortunately they don't 'work best' with anything. I would settle for 'works', but even that is asking much.

What brand of G36 is it going on?

Actually, it'd be good if someone could tell me a combination of M4/M16 magazines and adapter that work well.....

Because all I care about at this point is to find a combination that works!

The magwell isn't the receiver.

i use battleaxe converters and king arms mags with very minimal mag wobble...however not all g36's are made equal so a battleaxe may not fit a JG well...my battleaxes work very well on my CA and TM. you'll needa find out which kit fots the best on a JG.

i am opinionated but i say go with KA mags

Hi, I have the JG G36 and have tried the Battleaxe adapter. It kinda works, but it is a bit iffy. I would actually specifically recommend against using the green box PMAGs, those are the ones that gave me the most trouble.

I tried it with a G&G hicap and it seemed to have less trouble, which suggests that perhaps it likes a slightly longer feeding tube and less of the "must be held pushed forward" bias that the greenbox PMAGs have.

I haven't done a comprehensive test... Maybe you could convince me to do it

I got so tired of spending money trying to find a combination that works perfectly that I gave up (I don't have any gun that takes STANAG mags)

My G36/SL9 is my primary, and while intermittent missfeeds are more acceptable for a secondary or "fun" gun I was getting annoyed at the issues with my main boomstick.

If you can get it to work that's great, just don't expect much. 80% of the people I know who tried a magwell ended up abandoning it because they couldn't get it to feed properly.

Do a comprehensive test if you already have the items to do so...I wouldn't want you to waste money on something that ends up not working...lol

I think that I will probably borrow a friend's G&G Hi-cap (what a coincidence!) and get myself a Battleaxe adapter and try it out... hopefully it works :banghead:

I've read that a lot of people can't get it to work and have given up...but I'm hoping this works because then me and my friend can share mags!

This was interesting to read and helped me with my problem. Thanks!

Another reason that I want to use M4 mags is because I can store more of those than I can with G36 mags...also, it'd be easier to find someone with a M4/M16 mag than a G36 mag...

Completely agree.. I f**king hate G36 mags. They're big as hell and snag on everything. Tabs always break. And no one makes acceptable non-bullet-filled mags (I've tried the MAG brand and I think they're the worst magazines I've ever owned).

Battleaxe one works fine, main problem is you have to use mags that have decent feeding springs, because the feeding tube is in different places on stanag mags and g36 mags, so there is a tunnel thats angled to put the bbs in line properly

the star brand mags have notoriously weak springs so ppl run into problems with them a lot

I bought one spare mag for my G36. Within 3 months of using it LIGHTLY AT HOME...tabs are mostly gone. Got caught on a wire and fell, spent a long time trying to figure out what was wrong, turned out to be jamming because of the drop. Can't even snap them together now. And that was the COOL feature of the G36 mags.....

Wait...so would hi-caps just be fine then? Or is there still an issue?...
When I took apart my G36 mag, there was no spring like the ones found in low/mid caps...although there is another spring to wind up...

look at a regular stanag mag and a g36 mag online

if you look at the top of the mag the feed tubes are in different places, thats what i was referring to

as for high caps, they still have a spring it just works slightly different, the bb resevior gravity feeds into a loader that pushes the bbs into a feed tube. as long as the spring is wound those bbs get fed upwards, when the spring runs out of tension, no more bbs get fed.
