Not that I found back when I was looking for one. Though I didn't check every retailer.

OK, another dumb question, I have an M249, and I was planning on throwing an RIS front handguard on it, my question is, on those guys you see with the MK46 with the RIS front and the vertical grips, do they just run around with the tripod dangling?

dangling, folded forwards or removed are the options for that.

Other option is the addition of a bipod holding clip on the rail.

I have a para stock that is gathering dust if you want it. It is lacking the shoulder support But it is ortherwise in working order.

OK, cool thanks for the info. (maybe I should rename this thread the dummy guide to the M249 eh? LOL)

OK, one more question, I was watching a couple of the MAGPUL vids, and there is one where they're doing the aerial shooting from the chopper, and when he's shooting the 249 I noticed it is suppressed. Does this actually occur in real life situations? And if so when would you put a can on a SAW? Thanks!

My guess is any times a gun is fired in an enclosed space ( like a helicoper) a can will keep the noise, concussion and nuzzle flash to an acceptable level.

Having fired my 7.5 inch barreled ar from the drivers position thruw the passanger side window I can tell you the the blast beated the living shit out if the interior of the car and made my ears ring ( was wearing both plugs and muffs)

Just ordered a ris handguard and the enhanced collapsible stock for my 249. Both can be bought from ehobby or evike or redwolf. The handguard comes with a bipod holder attachment, but if you want a foregrip on your saw, you can't fold the bipod. Someone suggested elsewhere a side mounted bipod in that situation...

just grind the little piece of aluminium on the bipod support that limist it's rotation. Then you will be able to rotate it completely to the side and clip it on the side rail and use a vertical grip on the thing.. Nothing to add just a bit to remove...

Great! Thanks for the input and advise! you guys are sure knowledgable! I found a lower at Ebairsoft and bought an upper RAS from Huang, but I had to bend open the RAS to make it fit my STAR 249 and also had to drill some holes so I could put the skrews in.- I guess I assumed that these were universally compatible - silly me.

Any idea if there are any GBB drop-in kits available for the STAR SAW? I saw some for the Daytona but have'nt found any for STAR. Love how the GBB sounds!!!!

Another question, my STAR obviously is an AEG but for you guys running the old school gas powered ones, how do you run the remote line from your gun to the air source without it looking unsightly and getting in the way of your movements?
