PGC M249 Mechbox

Not that's it, I've stripped my last piston (the 4th... and on a regular 9.6V battery, not a 12V!) in this mof*cking gun, it's time to make some drastic changes into that mechanism.

I've heard about this PGC mechbox for M249, but everywhere I see it, it is sold out. Also, the price tag is quite hefty, so I am wondering if it is really worth the investment. I'm also wondering if this gearbox requires Marui-style components or TOP components.

Also, I'd like to know if there are alternatives to that PGC mechbox.

Thanks in advance

Hi, as of now...the other option is a V3 mechbox cut apart and heavily modified.

So its either the Pgc or the Modified V3.
The PGC does use Marui internals so its all good...as well as the capability of big springs in there.(although not recommmeded as its a rapid fire automatic weapon and not a plinker)

the V3 mechbox requires alot of work to get it to fit and work properly. The PGC is a great way to go. i have one in my gun and it is amazing. You have to by regular internals to put in it.

What kind of pistons are you using in your gun. I have my old solid alumiun piston that i had with my old internals, i can't remember who made them off had again but i know that they are kind of rare. If you are interested in it, let me know, it may solve your problems with shreading pistons. It is milled from a peice of solid alumiun so it is extreamly strong.

That's most likely the Q-project aluminum piston.

It would be interesting to see if a P90 gen 6 mechbox could not be made to fit in there...IMO would be a faster and easyer route than a gen 3.

I think the nozzle height might be the issue but I don't have a m249 to measure. I have looked into using a v6 box on other projects and while its very compact it still has issues lining up to the barrel on many different guns.

He can also try a CA mechbox for his M249. The CA M249 are now for sale but we'll have to see what quality is going to be in there.

PGC will begin manufacturing their M249 mechboxes again soon. UNC will be carrying them. This comes straight from the mouth of the manager at UNC (yes, I spoke with her in person).

Keep your eyes peeled.

If any of you are wandering by UNC, might want to check out their M249 on display. Full metal, RIS, Paratrooper stock, real steel ACOG. OOOH YEAHHH

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Tyrant, to answer your question, I am using Guarder blue polycarbonate pistons, and so far, it've been the 4th that broke, first tooth broken from the rest of the piston. I'm using guarder because there's not much more choice, aside TOP original-and-equally-crappy-if-not-even-more pistons.

Nortus, thanks for the heads-up... but where is UNC located?

Thanks.

Si tu veux payer moin chere, Red-tiger est revendeur officiel de Un-Company. Ses prix sont très bon, meilleur que si on commande nous meme.
