I'm a Canadian national but I've been living in Japan for about 7 years now, I started to play airsoft a wile back but now me and my wife are thinking about moving to Canada.
I try to read all the FAQ and rules of the forum as well as I could but I'm still not sure!

Ok I have a WE L85 and a Marui Glock17
Obviously I saw that I cant bring them back with me! So selling my L85 is my only option. I can probaly buy a new one or different one in Canada!
But for my glock I modified it quite a lot and I have mostly a lot of money into it and a lot of love for it lol
What parts from my glock can I bring back with me?
Metal slide?
Internals?
Mags?
Frame?
Basically if I break it into pieces which ones can I bring back and can't?
Would it be better to ship some parts and put some other in my luggage?

Just to be clear im not trying to bypass the law in anyway and I didnt buy a gun in Japan to save money I live here so that the only reason I bought it here which to me is pretty logic lol?

Also what up with the transparent trigger frames?
I saw 2 or 3 canadian retailer that only have GBB pistols with transparent trigger grams is that standard for Canada!

Frame is a no-no. I believe some barrels are also prohibited. The rest should be fine.

Then when I'll be back in Canada is it possible to buy a frame for a TM glock 17 that not bloddy transparent ? Lol

Your going to look at either buying a new pistol here and then swapping out your custom parts.

I have heard that slides are ok, but frames are not. I am not 100% on that though. I do know that frames are not allowed in. At the very least I would take out any custom part you put into the slide (outer and inner barrels, gas system, etc....).

Although thinking about it now you could probably buy a used or broken pistol here and put your parts into it to make it work again. It may even be cheaper.

Do they have full black pistols here or just the slides that are black and the the trigger frame transparent ?

Most major retail outlets I've seen sell pistols with a clear or tinted trigger frames. However, if you do some hunting around, you can find full colored frames here, though it's often through smaller, made-for-purpose retailers or classified sections (such as the one here).

Long answer short, you can get full colored guns here. They're just a bit more labor intensive to track down.

Long story short, you have to:
- Mail all the gear you want to keep to yourself in Canada. Cheaper than paying the flight surcharge, and even if the items aren't prohibited they will raise issues at the various checkpoint in airports.
- Sell or abandon gun, grenades and other prohibited items. Look around the newb tank for the list of what is ok and what is not.
- Move, panic, settle in, get your affairs in order.
- Get in touch with your local group, meet an age verifier.
- Once your AV status clears, you'll have access to anything. Keep in mind that you will pay Canadian prices, around double what you had in Japan.

Some might suggest bringing in the guns without the restricted receiver parts, bad idea, the market for bodies and frames in Canada, apart from ARs, is practically non-existent.

The transparent frame/receiver thing is to help importation, but there are other ways to get guns in. It's not practical for an individual to do though.

TL;DR airsoft in Canada is a tad more complicated than in Japan, network with people once here and they'll get you up to speed.

On a Glock 17 everything but the frame is good to go I have imported 3 or 4 Glock 17 slide and barrel sets. Once back in Canada get age verified and a retailer here can get you a TM Glock and then you can install all your customs parts on it. We can get nearly every thing airsoft here but it's more money and time, prepare for sticker shock

There's a fellow named AquaMarine in Japan who you might be able to talk to about things. He'd probably have the best info about going from Japan to Canada.

One more question! How about plate carriers?
I have my original issued British Osprey MK3 plate carrier with the soft armor and plates (I served in the British army 5 years)
Can you bring them back with out any customs problems?

Body armor is the best example of something completely legal to import but that I wouldn't bring in my luggage.
